Star power guide for Killer Queen

http://www.purplefrog.com/~thoth/guitar-hero/killer-queen-3.png

I'll try a little formatting to the guide--listing the star power sections to hit for each use.

1. Beginning notes of the song. I know this is counter-intuitive, but don't whammy the green note.
2. On the words 'laser beam'.

-- Activate immediately, as in the very next note after the RB on 'laser beam' should hit 8x. It should run out exactly on the next star power.

1. RB, GY--- , go ahead and whammy the chord
2. B-- B-----, only whammy this a very small amount, maybe half a second.
3. On the words 'spoke just like a baroness'

-- Activate immediately on the yellow note, don't bother to whammy. It should run out exactly on the next star power.

1. 'Fastidious and precise'
2. BB--- BYRG----. Whammy the holds.

-- Activate quickly, about on the orange note. You want it to run out in time for the next star, but you want the chords to make it in at the end.

1. GB RB YB BO---. Whammy as normal
2. O--- Y R B-- Y R. Whammy if you wish.

-- Activate fairly quick. I think I usually have a measure or two of extra room in this gap.

1. YB BO----. Whammy as much as you can.
2. OBYYRG---. Ditto

-- I like to turn this on right before the next scale down (YRG YRGG), but whatever.. there's a lot of extra time, I think.

1. R RB-- R RB--
2. YO-- at the end. Gather as much as you can, since this is the last one.

-- I usually throw on the last star power before the last YO YO-- chords leading into the long end solo.

So that's all, only 13 star powers packed into this song. My 100% run was 154,810 (1st at the moment), but I know I didn't follow all of my own advice.. so another 1,000 could easily be possible, I think.

Let me know if this "format" was easy to follow.

warning for those of you following this strategy...it is good for about 155-156k

..however, the top score is now almost 5k beyond that. It took me a little while to figure out how Echelar improved on this....but I got it. like many other optimal star paths..it involves purposly missing star powers.

Heh yeah, that path is very old. Most of my other guides have also been improved on over time..

Your other guides are good foundations..and lets face it..you are one of the few who share any star paths at all..so good on you.

Ok... we pointed out a while back that the strat posted above is out of date....so now, a couple months later, I am finally getting around to posting the updated strat. Here you go.

Rabies - Killer Queen Hard strategy

Echelar is up a little over 1k on me here. Probably due to better squeezing/sp activation.

I had a pretty good strategy(consistently getting 150k+), but I forgot it. I'll try to make a new one, I guess.

EDIT for anyone who cares: Is it possible to get star power on those first two star power notes? I swear I've done it before, but I've only done it once.

Here's another slight improvement to the path using 2-3-2-2-2

Why bother reposting the non-optimal path? 2-2-2-3-2 is better.

Are people using your path sully? Because every time I play it with this path I fall about 2K short and my squeezing is pretty damn good. Any explanation why? Or any other better paths?

lolz, my grandma found it for me when she was saw some spongebob stuff that her friend had. She sent it to me and I put it up. Thanks for the path. It is much appreciated, considering I drove myself crazy today trying to squeeze it out. Appreciate it, pieguy.

Really? I wonder where she found it, since I made the .gif and only use it here and on one other forum. Cool.

Also, that site has all the paths you'll ever need.
