I use the SP in 2 blocks of 3, just when the chords start. It wastes 2 SPs though so I don't think this will be the best strat...

2-2-3 is better by about 2200 unless I am not doing what you are...

That is the right path.

Actually the best way is 2-2-2-2

2 - next note
2 - next note
2 - wait 3 green notes and hit the first green
2 - next note

There is no way that third activation is right unless you don't whammy at all...cause you have it as only going 4 measures and there is certainly whammy in the phrases leading to it...

Believe me, I whammy hard every chance I get (except when I'm not supposed to of course). If you don't think it's possible take it back a few more notes. My exectution wasn't perfect because if I had squeezed the first red of the 3rd activation I might have had the note right before the next SP as well.

After seeing this exchange, I decided to try both paths with absolutely no bias either way (and believe me, thanks go out to both of you....this was my worst song on Easy @ 40th place!).

I must say, AKA, I was skeptical of FA's path at first as well, but after execution (and slight activation tweaking), I am convinced it is the way to go.

As far as that pesky third activation goes, I think FA meant to say the first *NOTE* after the third green maybe? This is where I activated (on that single yellow bugger) and the SP runs out right before the next SP. Also, I began the final activation right after that string of 4 single reds in measure 84 so as to catch the chords at the end.

I dunno, it might be that my whammying skills suck (they do) or that my squeezing abilities are weak (they are), but 2-2-2-2 seems to be the way to go for this guitar hero

But again, thanks to both of you guys (and everyone else that contributes) for everything....without your help a lot of us would be stuck.

PS: Oh yeah....127686 ------ 7th PLACE!!!

Haha I definitely agree that 2-2-2-2 is better, I just think he typed incorrectly for that third activation...cause with full whammy you miss that sp by a couple measures. I wasn't doubting his skill, no worries!

Either I hadn't whammyied enough or I was a bit distracted when typing my initial activation points. Anyhow I got a good place so luckily I don't have to worry about it anymore. Glad I could be of any assistance though.

Hmmmm, since Collide is at the moment my worst ranked Easy song, It's time to run the numbers on this bad boy and see what I come up with.
I'll let you know what pathway wins on paper with "theoretically perfect" whammying and squeezing once I have it completely sussed out. It's MATH TIME!

Edit with Results:
Theoretical on paper with best activation points I can painstakingly find for each path...adding up note chart point values and comparing what gets covered. I computed a hell of a lot of pathways, here are the top five:

2-2-2-2 can double 6365 points
3-2-2 can double 6180 points
2-2-3 can double 6105 points
2-3-3 can double 5562 points
2-3-2 can double 5043 points

2-2-2-2 WINS!

Also, on my 2nd place run I made the last activation end on the last chord of the song, rather than using it on the next note.

Just a tip

Easy to execute path except for the final squeeze. If you can't seem to make it, start one note later and you'll get the chord under SP giving you 200 points more than if you wouldn't get it under SP.
