I'd say practice on hard until you can do very well with the main theme, then adding in the quick notes on expert won't seem so terrible. As to whether to strum fast, or do a hammer-on, that's up to you. _________________

A common mistake I've seen in this song is playing the HO's in the main riff (right after the beginning chords) too early, resulting in combo breaks. The first note of the HO lies on the beat, not the second, and I've seen people play the second note on the beat, which is too early. |

It's not that bad, once you nail those two riffs. The rest of the song IS those two riffs, except the fast-chorded solo and the (R- O- R- O-) alternating part. _________________

You could never really count on hammer ons and pull offs in the first place... _________________

In the second part of the solo, does the speed of the notes go up (from the GR and RY part to the YB and BO part)? I can get the first half of the solo no problem, but I always screw up the timing in the second half.
EDIT: Nevermind, I am looking at the note chart, and it doesn't seem to change at all. I am assuming the BPM of the song stays constant, but it just seems like it is speeding up.... Maybe because of the rapid switching of notes?

it stays the same i'm pretty sure, you'll have to ask JCirri, though.
all of the fast chords can be separated into triplets
GY:RY:RY - RY:RY:RY, so on.
the difference with the second part is that the triplets aren't represented by the three chords you play in a row, because the first BO chord streak has 4 chords. so the triplets in the second part go like
BO:BO:BO - BO:YB:YB - YB:BO:BO |

The tempo slightly fluctuates between 79 and 82 bpm throughout the song, except for the last 4 notes which are at 70 bpm. So basically the tempo is fairly constant. _________________

What fixed all my troubles were that I was doing the HOs WAY TOO FAST. Slow it down a bit, you don't need to HO immediately...once you get the timing on it a couple times you'll hit every one of those.
edit: lol...doing the hos way too fast |
