This song is so cool. I have a friend who even knows the history of YYZ and how the band got its name. I'll share the info. when I talk to him again.

FC this baby (I wish...)!

YYZ is the song name, and it was chosen because YYZ is the airport code for Toronto. (Rush is Canadian) The very beginning of the song, where it alternates from G to B, sounds out Y Y Z in morse code.

I've loved this song forever, but it's slowly driving me crazy in GH2. There's nothing overly hard about any of the sections, but I find myself myself constantly missing ~20 notes per run -- stupid flubs scattered in different places every time, killing streaks left and right. Bah!

I'd be curious to know what Star Power path people are using. I'm using 4-3-3-2-2 at the moment, but I've tried a lot of other ones and the scores all seem to end up in the same ballpark.

weird
I just played it with SP and got 140k
Then I played it again to try to plan a SP strategy without using SP, and I got 140k again from 90% notes hit to 92%, same note streak and it felt like I did everything the same even the combo
maybe i got better or something
hm

Once you get the SP from the fast strumming part and the R RB RB part at the end, when does everyone use that SP in the solo?

EDIT: After measure 77 is where I'm talking about.

with my current strat (3, 3, 2, 3, 2) I dont use any through the solo (but, I've not done the maths, so it probably not the strongest strat), I can't keep much of a streak there, and I can't hit the end for the life of me, I guess slowing it down in practise and playing it over and over to get the fingering is what I need to do. (not for the points, just to look awesome)

Yeah the end of the solo is a killer...I eventually learned how to do it with my right hand tapping the fret bar =\..it's pretty inconsistant but looks amazing if I pull it off, I'll check out your strat later.

I always broke my combos in this part:

I solved this problem by switching the fingering from the natural 1234323434 to 1123212323. It's easy to switch back to the 'standard' position on the next red note and it helped a lot with 5*ing YYZ.

I use the same fingering for that part myself and I never miss it anymore.

Ja!!

EDIT: Whoops...League has this song ;)..will re-post in a week.

Make sure for the SP after the solo (the long G hold to R Y) Make sure you activate on the 2/4 measure during the Y hold (should be a thick measure line)

Heres mine, got me 276k with 1 mistake on last part of solo, but should suffice for less than top players.

NOTE: Whammy all holds if possible.

1. Get 3 SP's, activate on measure 30.

2. Get 2 SP's, activate on measure 50.

3. Get 2 SP's, activate on measure 72, on red note of ascending RYB part.

4. Get 2 SP's, activate on measure 96.

5. Get Full SP bar from post-solo SP holds (measures 105-109, 112-113), get X4 multiplier, then use SP.

6. Get 2 last SP's, activate immediately on YB hold on end of measure 141.

Note on #6: If you were quick enough to get the SP under measure 121, still activate in same spot as directed.

It's not perfect, but it's a start. The measures are the red numbers in the note charts, right?

3, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2 and waste the last one. You can figure it out from there.
