Chancellor, you're 12k away from 5*, try me being at 5k. Those damn Verses are kicking my butt. If I miss a single note on the Chorus, I will restart the song. I guess I will just have to practice the verse some more. . .

This is one of the 3 songs I haven't 5 starred yet. I got so close earlier today too! only 500 points off. Luckily I have a friend who's in the top 20 (15 on 360) for this song to help me get up there later.

Is it weird that, before I could do the verses consistently, I could FC solo E (and I used SP there)? (I wasn't consistent at the verse, but I could get some 2x multipliers here and there.)

The path I first used for 5*, before being good at this song:
1-During intro B
[miss next 2 SP phrases during verse]
2-During Solo E
[miss another SP phrase in verse]
2-During bridge (I FC'd from the bridge to the very end.)
There should be another SP phrase in the chorus, but ignore it.

I suck at that main riff, if I am lucky I can get the rhythm down but I can't at the moment.

Everything else I can do fine (except the solo with the triplets). I need to go into practice mode and figure out that rhythm. Any tips for the main riff? I have only 3 starred this and I do want to get five ;)

Failtroll is fail. Bragging about FC'ing a song that hasn't yet, and then asking about customs in the same topic (which is off topic)?

Jesus. That's just too obvious.

i'm fightin with 4* on this one, not too sure how much more i need to make 5*, but i can actually handle the verse way better then the chorus or solos (i find i'm alot better with quick changing chords then i am with solos)

i should prolly start using the practice mode, but i like practicing the song during the carreer mode, that way if i nail something sweet it's recorded and not just something for me to say "ooooh i FC'd the solo in practice mode"

I used the 2-3-2-1 except I forgot to activate the second to last activation. I ended up with 440k. I FC'd it out of the solo and one note in the scale at the beginning. If i wouldn't have forgotten that damn activation, it would've been good for 6400 more, and I would've gotten that last tenth of a star. >:[

EDIT: Also, could someone PLZ find out what path is better 2-3-2-1 or 1-2-2-2-1!?!?!?!? Priest???????

When I calculated the difference between the two for league play, I got that the difference was rather insignificant - 1-2-2-2-1 was better by 75 points (pre-multiplier). This assumed you whammied the first activation as much as possible, used it at the first red note of measure 29 in 1-2-2-2-1, and got all the squeezes on both paths. Random error (missed squeezes, delayed activations, etc.) is likely to cause more variation than the 75-point difference between the paths. That being said, each path has its perks.

The first thing to notice, obviously, is that the last two activations are going to be the exact same in either path: half a bar at measure 137 and a full bar at 149, so the difference is only between the first 5 phrases.

1-2-2-2-1 splits the first 5 SP's up into 3 activations, while 2-3-2-1 splits them into 2 activations. In my calculation, I included a squeeze each time. If you are like most players and won't get a squeeze out of any of those activations, your SP will probably miss more notes relative to my 1-2-2-2-1 calculation than to my 2-3-2-1 calculation. This alone erases the 75 point gap.

In each path (assuming you aren't doing the FC path), you will have an activation right after the solo. Knowing this, if you are unlikely to have a 4x coming out of solo E, I would recommend 1-2-2-2-1, because you would have only 2 phrases to use after the solo, so you could put off the activation for a little over a measure after the verse starts in order to get your multiplier back up a little. Putting it off any more than that causes the activation to run into the "worthless" measures 112 and 113. With 2-3-2-1, you have 3 phrases to use coming out of the solo, so SP already runs into measure 112, and you would need to use it immediately at the start of the verse to maximize the number of notes it gets.

Finally, if you are going for the FC and using SP at the beginning of solo D, 2-3-2-1 is better. A drawback to 2-3-2-1 in the non-FC path is that it runs into "worthless" measure 112 on the activation after the solo, but this will no longer be an issue if it is used during the solo.

I hope this all made sense. Essentially, for the standard, non-FC path, the two paths are too close to really make a difference.

So, for the 80th time, 2-3-2-1 is best for a FC run, while the two paths are very close for a non-FC run (where you do not use SP in the solo). 1-2-2-2-1 edges out 2-3-2-1 by about a note for the non-FC path, in theory, but in practice, the difference is negligible.

Sorry I now this is supposed to be simple and everything...but what does that stuff mean?
