I have a new path, but I'm still working on it; I don't think it will be all that great though. *shrug*

So I've been thinking about this song a lot lately. The solo, that is. If you tense up your forearm muscle really tightly, you can get your hand to vibrate quite nicely. I can make mine vibrate at 13 button presses per second. This is average for this method. The fastest button masher in the world can do 16.

So then I was like... could this be applied to the trogdor solo... The note chart says 130 BPM, or 2.167 BPS, the solo shows 8 notes per beat, which is just over 17 notes per second... So not even the world button mashing champ could do it on a dualshock.

The SG, however, gets you two notes per vibration because of the up and down strum. Which would put everyone going at 13 presses per second, at 26 notes per second, well above the required seventeen. So you see the dilemma I arrived at... If only someone out there could learn to oscillate at 8.5 presses per second...

I'm also fairly certain that a modified strumbar would produce better results with this method. Maybe one about the thickness of a driver's license that didn't jut out quite as far as the regular one. Maybe this summer with a lot of spare time...

Anyway, for those of you who read all of that without falling asleep, thank you. I'm not sure if using a modified guitar would even be "kosher" around here or anything, but if it is I can assure you I will be trying this method over the summer. And maybe if a couple people who are actually good at the game wanted to try that could be fun too.

to get a top score you have to hit EVERYTHING untill the fast repeated notes, and everything after.

Has anyone looked into the possibility that the guitar controller might possibly not be able to detect you playing those fast notes? Maybe they are so fast and condensed that the controller isn't able to send in the fact that you might be hitting them. Someone post here if you've ever hit them all and it will be disproven. But right now, I'm pretty much convinced of it. When I play that part, I strum soooooo fast, and I still see almost half the notes go by unhit. It doesn't make sense, so like any gamer would, I blame the controller.

It's very possible, it's just that you are strumming too fast.

I've been workin on this song in practice and I was doing the same thing.

Try going to practice and don't start strumming until the first yellow note of the fast part and strum as fast as you can. Count how many notes you get and then go back and strum at about Misirlou speed at the first yellow note and I guarantee you that you will have hit more ntoes when strumming at Misirlou speed.

I'm really surprised, that no one hasn't FC'ed this yet. My record in that fast part is -2 and as you can see from my scores, I still suck in GH.

I'm trying to figure out IF anyone can FC it, then if they would achieve more point by using their first SP activation in the whole solo... But then they'd be left with a useless half of a half of bar... Hmmm.

I've checked before, and 3-2 is in fact better than 4.

um, I dont believe that I can be right, because someone else would have seen this, but what about 2-3? activating the first one IMMEDIATELY, so it runs out before the 3rd phrase, and then activating right on the first chord after the solo (at x4, assuming FC), it'll end right when the notes end.

by my count, the current accept path has 232 notes under SP (counting chords as 2 ofcourse)
this one, also by my count (I say this because, again, I dont believe I can be right..), has 246.

here's it drawn out:

according to ^ that...114.0 + 156.0 = 270 notes with the 3-2 path...plus another 13.5 notes worth of hold points

visual of the path

Yes. thats the path i use when i play this. Somtimes i cant get the first activation out fast enough. try it. its extremly hard to get it. i get it out fast enough at about every 3 out of 5 times. Its a really hard path to use but its pretty good in my opinion
