anyone have any tips to get the 2nd riff perfectly? the 34322? I can do it sometimes, but not all the time, if i could to it all the time i could then 5* it. I'M SO CLOSE!

I don't know myself. I get it on about a 50/50 basis. That and the GRYB hammer-on are what ruin my scores.

I get the GRYB most all the time. But I hardly ever get the other riff (usually once per run).

When I got 5*'s I never combo'd the 34322 riff, so if you work hard enough on the other parts and use star power well enough, you can get 5-stars without it.

I still haven't learned to HO. But every once in a while I can actually get the GYRB without using HO... like every 100th try or so

Don't worry about HO/PO. I'm up in 2nd and I still can't HO/PO very easily. I'm starting to learn it, but when I'm going for high scores, I strum.

I really can't say, mainly because it's so hard to hit all of the SP that I can't create a good strategy.

I never studied the chart that much. I just used star power during the main riff parts as much as possible while doing my best to remain at 8x throughout them. I don't think I activate star power anywhere except the main riff parts. After the solo in the BYGGBYGGBYO parts I save up a full meter of star power and then activate when the main riff starts up again.

I'm trying to 5 this. I've got the main part down. The other part thats with the GRYB is giving me trouble. The one that goes YBYRRYBYRR I think.

Any suggestions as to nailing the basic beginning riff? (GRGRYR... etc.)

I'd rather not rely on HO/PO or even up/down strumming, as that just throws off my rhythm most of the time, but if the answer is "practice, practice," well, hell.

At least I've got all summer to work on this.

I'm afraid "practice" is the best answer. I'm certainly not good enough at this song to be an authority on how to do it well (I just passed it recently), but after many, many attempts at this song, I was doing the opening riff fairly well most of the time. It's the solos you really have to worry about. Maybe you should try the rock meter cheat so you can practice the whole song.

I think it's easier to HO/PO it. It's really not that bad of a pattern. Just practice getting the timing down.

Also break it up into sections if you have to. I only strum 3 times whenever I'm playing the riff.

Now I'd like to ask for help on playing the last part of the solo/outro. I can get through it easily, I just can't keep a streak going.
