Okay testing out Slowhand's path I got 200024 at measure 61. I activated the 1st one earlier at the GR hold on measure 15 to get it to end where he has it marked in to end. I did not get the 3rd RB chord at the end of the 3rd activation though so I'll add 400 assuming that that squeeze is possible.
Slowhand - 200,424
Using random's path, I can squeeze a little more than he marked in. For is 1st activation, I get it to last until after the RB hold on measure 23 (I see that Slowhand marked it in correctly). On his 2nd activation, I can activate on the 3rd O note in measure 33 and still get it to last about 1/2 way through the YB hold at the end. On his 3rd activation, I can get the YO chord at the end, opposed to where he has it marked in (ending 1 chord earlier at the BO chord on measure 57).
random - 201,136
Edit: Just found Barbaloot's path. I tried it and it didn't work very well. I got all the squeezes. However, he did help me out with the last activation; gives a few more tick points. Still need better path.
Barbaloot - 199,228
I hope this helps you out Slowhand. I think that random's path is a little bit better. Thanks for all your work on Guitar Hero 1 though. You rock dude. And I'm still pretty sure that random's path is not the one the iamchris4life used to get 1st. There is a better path. |

Strange, I added up the numbers for all reasonable paths up to that point and picked the highest one for my chart, but I'll check again. _________________

Ok, I rechecked everything, using Slowhand's diagram for both Slowhand's and random's path. First, I made a few changes to those paths:
In Slowhand's path (thin line), the first activation can start at the beginning of m15 and still get all the chords in m19 before the SP phrase. Also, the third activation in Slowhand's path is 8 measures and an eighth note long, which is definitely an impossible double squeeze (you would have to be off on the endpoints by over a 16th each at ~136 BPM). I removed this double squeeze and started a note later.
In random's path (thick line), I extended the first activation to include the YO chord in m23 (which Piso pointed out was possible; I made the same change to my own path). I also included the orange note before the one shown on the diagram for the 2nd activation. Finally, since you say you could get the YO chord in the 3rd activation, I included it.
Thus, my first activation is the same as random's, and my third activation is the same as Slowhand's.
Here are the numbers:
Slowhand:
1st activation: 735+735+735+900+700 = 3805.
2nd activation: 400+300+500+300+400+300+735+735 = 3670.
3rd activation: 650+800+1000+1100+1100+1100+1100+1100+500 = 8450.
Total: 15925.
random:
1st activation: 735+735+900+900+250+400+350+350 = 4620.
2nd activation: 350+300+400+300+735+735+673 = 3493.
3rd activation: 3 fewer chords than Slowhand's, so 8150.
Total: 16263.
Barbaloot:
1st activation: 4620 (same as random's).
2nd activation: 150+500+300+400+300+735+673 = 3058.
3rd activation: 8450 (same as Slowhand's).
Total: 16128.
So after rechecking everything, it turns out that random's path beats mine by 135 points under SP. (When I was comparing these possible paths before, I did not include the YO chord in the 3rd activation of what turned out to be random's path, and I must have accidentally made one a note too short or too long elsewhere.) This would translate to a score 540 points higher than my path (and 1352 points higher than Slowhand's), after you add in the extra note to random's 2nd activation. I do not see how your score with my path was so low, then, unless either the note chart is wrong or you messed up somewhere.
The end result, however, is still the same - random's path (with the added improvements) is best. I will update the path on my site now.
(For reference purposes, my old 2nd activation was from the first of the 3 consecutive blues in m32 to the YB chord in 38. The one on my site is now the one just now determined to be correct.) _________________

Thanks for working this out Barbaloot and thanks for setting up those star power gallerys, those are so awesome for reference. The only thing I needed to know is that the YO chord is possible in measure 23, that boosted my score 400 points. At measure 61 I had 201,512. |
