posted in wrong forum earlier, < noob

sorry if anyone else thought of this i couldnt find any posts on it
so its been about a week now and ive really been getting agitated by the whole 2 piece neck issue where if you seem to move it youll drop a chord or it wont recognize button pushes.
since best buys around here dont seem to carry spares for replacements ive been a sad kid with the same guitar hero 3 with a buggy guitar after 4 best buys.

what i found to have worked for me is that if someones pressing the neck in theres no lost contact and the guitar seems to work beautifully.

naturally what i thought of was using a rubber band(they tend to be popular this guitar hero version)

the Les Paul has the 2 spots for the strap and what i did was take a rubber band from the one on the neck and run it straight down to the body nut. i then place the strap over it and havent had an issue yet.
let me know if anyone has any luck with this.

*forgot to mention that to be careful in this, dont want anyone getting snapped in the eye. the amount of tension i had to use will probably break the rubber band after awhile*

I. LOVE. YOU.

This absolutely works. Great job discovering the problem and thinking up a great fix. Seriously, this has been killing me, even making so I didn't want to play anymore at times. Basically, you just saved my life. This should be stickied.

Best FIX so far. None obtrusive, very cheap, and makes the controller feel sturdier.

I suggest using two regular hair ties, looped through eachother.

ok guys, i got a pretty good fix for those damn nonresponsive buttons. i just recently took my friend's guitar apart and found out that the pins weren't fully compressed. here's the fix. take the detachable neck apart and you should find the board in which the pins have contact with. carefully pull up on the board and move it in front of the slots that it was sittin in. then take an index card and insert it in front of the board. make sure the card isnt covering the connection for the pins. the card will prevent the board from moving. put it back together and you're done. i'll post pics later on to help people who are havin trouble. lemme know how this works for everyone

Hmm... I don't doubt that this works fine as a temporary solution, but does anyone else suspect this might cause more harm than good in the long run? Could that prolonged tension in any way warp the cheap internal workings, or am I being irrational? Thinking about doing this just until I have access to a soldering iron (and become more confident that I won't destroy my guitar if I try to solder it myself.)

Oh yeah, and fuck these fucking guitar controller pieces of shit.

Hmmm... I never detach mine and just recently had this problem. My fix was to take some super adhesive from work (a vynal company) and just permanently fuze the two together. Was that a bad call on my part? I noticed it was due to the neck being able to slip up or down alittle bit and since I never seperate the two it sounded good at the time.
