That was the coolest thing Ive ever seen (GH related).
A quick question. Would you consider doing this to one of my Xplorers and for how much? I wouldnt need all of the mods you did, just a select few.
-The replaced Pick-guard w/ purple lights.
-Lightup frets w/ new microswitches.
Im scared to even attempt these mods
EDIT: I just read through the entire thread. Seems like youre getting hassled by this just slightly. Ill run this by my dad and see if its something me and him could work on over the next few months. Thanks for all of the info though, I'm sure it will come in handy when I attempt this beast of a mod. _________________

**applause**
EASILY mod of the year.
I gotta give credit where its due. The Nimrod is easily the most awesome Guitar Hero-related thing, not of the norm, EVER.
Honestly, I am more umpressed with that controller than when I first saw a custom Guitar Hero disc. And after reading this thread, I can see that it took much more labor and thinking.
You sir... are a guitar hero god

The microswitches i got by just buying a couple of cheap three button mouses and taking out the switches from them. Even a very cheap mouse has very good and fast switches as they are made for exactly that. Fingerstrength pressing at high speeds (e.g. double clicking) |
Sweet thanks i've got tons of mice(mouses? i really have no clue which is correct!) just laying around here so i should have plenty!!! I also have a lot of perf board too!!!

I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I can say as much. Better motifs, better integration of light effects and motivs, more and much stronger and faster light. |
I can't wait! Hate to bother you for another question, but about what time do you think you'll finish it? _________________

I was wondering if you could upload a picture that labels which wires go to what frets, or just explain what wire = which fret.
By the way, the RO Wireless has 8 points as well, like the Xplorer |

If there is anyone around who wants to give it a go and is reasonably seasoned in making own circuit boards and programming PICs, I’ll try to convince Grand Master Pimp to release the schematics for the circuit board (of course with component lists and attachment points for the Xplorer)
Hope that helps. Let me know if your up for the PIC game or if we should focus on something else. |
I'm up for it, not totally seasoned... but I'd like to try my hand at it. Also how are the microswitches mounted? was a new board required? |
