Yeah, you kinda have it backwards. You need to whammy everything unless the path says not to XD.

I think you guys mean to activate the first time on the 3rd blue, so as to get those red/yellow chords just before the next phrase.

Hm I tried path just now and only got 119,066. That's still far from top score. Is this path still optimal? I whammied everything.

The path says 2,2,2, but there are 7 sp phrases in the song. What about the last phrase. No matter how hard I whammy, I still can't get a sp from just the last phrase. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I just did what you said in the post above me. I activated on the 3rd blue instead of the 2nd, but it was still 119,1xx. I must be doing something wrong...

No it is defnitely the 2nd blue... you have to make sure that you are whammying everything till the end otherwise you are not going to the the RY's at the end of the activation. this requires a squeeze though so if you cannot squeeze then i would activate on the 3rd G and you would only be losing 200 points but you would gain ticks.

the path is definitely 2,2,2 and you will not get the last activation no matter how much you whammy. As for you not getting enough points, like i said above you have to whammy right from the beginning until the end of the whammy sustain.

So the last activation goes to waste? That dosen't really make sense. I'll try what you said though. Thanks.
