I've been reading the forums and understand its a complicated process, but is there any way I can take an exising midi file(readily available on the net) and convert it to gh2? thx in advance.

Are you talking about midis of songs with all the instruments and things midified? Im almost positive you cant just convert them. Its a complete different file. It would be like converting an MP3 to a GH2 note file, its just couldnt work.

explain what kind of midi do you want to convert, and maybe there's a way...

It sounds to me like he wants to convert a normal midi file (proper notes and such) to a Guitar Hero midi file, which I assume is not possible.

Yes I mean a regular midi file you get off the net that already has the melody of the guitar track in the treble clef lets say.

You can base your GH notes and rhythm on a regular midi, I do that. But there isn't any program that do that automatically; you have to write a new midi, with specific notes and specific events.
