hi there!
i was wondering if anybody has evere tried and managed to get GH2 working in pcsx2 (a ps2 emulator...)
i don't need actually to get in game, at least at the RedOctane logo...

i've managed to run gh1, but the second seems to go into an infinite loop before loading anything, so i can't see nothing...
gh2 is meant to be almost playable on the pcsx2 compatibility list, so maybe somebody could help...

if you did, let me know, it would help me a lot on a project i'm working on...

Yea runs fine for me.
Im able to at least get to the song select screen and hear to make sure a songs vgs was made right to show up, and then the mid to load up in game.
plays 15-20fps, nothing fun.
And still cant get a save to work with access to all the songs, but good to test the opening licks.

I can't even get GH1 to work in it
Just that infinite loop at either the RO or Activision splash screen.

Hi Sephiroth87,

i can run it too. I even managed to get to play it at a decent frame rate.
You need the dump of the RAM to get the uncompressed logo, right?

I was trying to do the same thing but i'm having problems dumping the right amount of memory. I don't know at which address to start and end the dump.

Send me a PM if you want. I have a space where i can upload the file.

mhm, no, i'm not actually interested in the logo...
i need a dump of the memory, from 00000000h to 02000000h (exactly 32meg...)
i need it that big because i'm not sure where the data i need are, but i'm almost sure they are in that portion of memory (they were here in gh1, so i hope to get a similar result..)

to make the dump, you just need to go to the Debug menu -> memory dump...
then press RAW dump and enter
start address: 00000000
end address: 02000000
and press ok...
dump.raw will be created in the same folder of the emu...

EDIT: Better late than never :P

I had a pretty busy week.

here they are:

RedOctane Logo
Activision Logo
Harmonix Logo

Btw, once you extracted the original files (before converting them) i would like to check them out so if you can post them it would be great
