I've been checking at least 3 stores nearly every day for about a week, and I've always come up empty. Wal-Mart even got a few in one day, but they sold them out in less than an hour.
Does anyone know when Wal-Mart or EB/GameStop are getting more in? Those are the two main places in my town. |

Welcome to the club. Except that I've been looking (not every day, mind) for almost a month now. Hopefully by mid-Jan they'll be more available.

Yeah, Wii's are pretty hard to find. PS3 on the other hand... a Fry's in Houston has over 50 ps3's ready for sale.
I'm pretty sure the ps3 will be getting 3rd this time in the console race. _________________

I actually witnessed a PS3 being sold the other day in my quest for a Wii. I was slightly dumbfounded, especially since I figured PS3s would be even less likely to be in stock. |

Yea, I pretty much gave up on getting a Wii until January. Just wait until after the holidays, there will be another shipment. _________________

Man, I had no idea they were going to be THIS hard to find. Glad I got mine when I did. _________________

shew. The Wii and DS are fucking banking! The demand for the Wii is high, and ebay shows that, it also shows the demand for the PS3. People are buying the Wii at over the $250 price, and the PS3 is selling for under their respected modeled prices (especially the 20gig model).
Ironic that the cheaper console is selling well over retail, while PS3 vulchers are struggling to sell it for whatever they can. I'm telling you guys, if you want a PS3, now is the time. Otherwise, knowing how stingy Sony can be about product prices (PSP, anyone?), the cost will still be high, flop or not. _________________

Ya, so what's Sony's answer to the fact that their product is an abysmal failure[*]? Why, double the memory, add another HDMI port, brand it as a "high end audio-video enthusiast system" (wait... I thought that was already part of the package that justifies its outrageous cost as a gaming platform...) and charge four times as much for it. Brilliant. Good luck with that there, Ken.
* Note: subjective and potentially biased opinion. :)

I feel for you man, I was incredibly lucky to get my Wii today, I'd pre-ordered it, but atm all I have is Wii Sports. Hoping to pick up a copy of LOZ today.
Have you tried some of the less likely stockists? Here in the UK you're best chance of getting a console on launch is from someone other than a specialist game shop. Mine was from Woolworths, and supermarkets are a good option to check too. |

I heard the day after Christmas might be a good time to find one for some reason, I think a decent shipment is rolling in or something. _________________

Check Sears, JCpennys, and Kmart. When i think videogames, those are the last 3 places i think, and when i was at all 3 for x-mas shopping, all 3 had ps3's, wii's, and 360's in stock. luckily I already have a 360 and a WII :P _________________

We had to wait in zero degree weather for 5 hours to get one about a month ago. But it was soooo worth it. _________________
