that depends on if he has played beatmania before. if he has, this game will be easy for him. just because a game has V doesnt make it hard, it just has a hard song.

If he has played before, I dont imagine he would waste his time with BMUS then...

Yeah, never played it before.

If I enjoy it enough I might import the others ones, though i'd need to get swap magic or something.

What's the best method for playing imports that isn't a modchip?

the flip top mod is quick and painless.

and i know a lot of people who got BMUS and actually play IIDX. its cheaper than buying a controller from japan, plus its a BETTER controller, why wouldnt they? $50 for BMUS and a controller > $60 for a japanese IIDX controller.

besides, with 8th, 9th, 10th, red, and happy sky i still play BMUS for songs that i cant play on imports because i dont have that game(i couldnt play LID on anything but BMUS till happy sky came out, and first day is awesome despite being a 3* on hyper), plus i'm a fan of the 5 key songs.

I'll probably ask again if I decide to actually import them. but Happy Sky and RED are generally considered the best mixes? I'm always hearing about both.

IMO, from what i have, happy sky, 8, 10, 9, red, BMUS.

i dont consider any of them bad, its just that happy sky and 8th have more songs i like/find fun to play. i've heard a lot of people agree with me on 8th, most people disagree wtih me on red, putting it up higher.

I'd rather have to agree with Matt. I personally like 10th quite a bit, as it is very trance-oriented. ^_^

BMUS is pretty bad.

I used to be into IIDX pretty hardcore, but I hit a wall eventually. Never could pass garbage like A [another] and Spica [another]. Difficulty is good but sometimes they took it too far, I think, heh.

Watched a vid of Xexpher(another).

And wow, I almost wanna import Happy Sky just so I can get good and play that song. That chart was so cool.

Hopefully BMUS arrives tomorrow.

Yeah, I actually like the songlist pretty well. It's like a "IIDX Greatist Hits."

It just has an impossibly steep learning curve. If you could get to 7*s or beyond just on this game, I'd give you a cookie.
