has anyone done the fret mod where you insert something under the frets so that it requires less pressure to activate?

yeah...

You'll need a pair of scissors, Mounting squares, double sided tape, or other adhesive. I don't recommend glue. I used "Scrapbook adhesives" available at most stores or
at www.scrapebook-adhesives.com.
I used a plastic plate for this. Some people have used thin cardboard. You'll need something thin and flexible. The plastic plate I used is only about 1mm thick.

I've used the scissors to cut the plastic plate into a strip that matches in length and width of the fret buttons. I then peeled and adhered the tape to the buttons and applied the plastic strip.

This is what you should end up with.

Re-attach your circuit board. Hand tighten the screws. Do not over tighten them. You'll notice a slight bulge in the board. This is normal. Attach the other half of your neck without using screws to check the button actions. No movement means you used too thick of a material, you'll have to find an alternative. Hopefully, if done right your button action has been reduced by half.

Finish any other modifications your working on and then re-assemble your guitar[/list]

I did not wright that, but i did that to a friends controler and it works better.

Just for the love of god do not tighten the circuit board too much because it will crack and now he can play faster because you hardly have to press the freat to make it work.

And make sure your freats are in the right order because i took them out to tape them, and i put them in the correct way faceing me and when i put everything back together the green one was at the bottem. orange at the top and so on, i was so mad, haha i had to take it apart again,

uh so maybe i'm not so mechanically inclined, but in those instructions, the piece of plastic is one single piece, covering all five frets, right? So how do you prevent from depressing multiple frets at one time when you press only one in this setup?? I did a slight alteration where i used single pieces of cardboard on each fret. Haven't tested it out in-game yet.
