How did you extract the files from the .wad-files?

With Game Extractor, perhaps? jfgi?

No idea about the headers thou, I've tried using some wav repair header thingie, didn't work thou. :/

So with this we can add custom gh3 songs to the Wii?

This is awesome. I can't wait. I've gotta get a modchip for my Wii now.
After reading some of the posts on there, it seems that you may not need a modchip. Can someone clarify?
Edit: Version 1b has been released: http://psx-scene.com/forums/nintendo-news/63488-wiitools-v-1b.html#post458790

I read about this too and it gave me hope for Wii customs, but is anyone even working on this?

Here is the source code for those interested: http://git.infradead.org/?p=users/segher/wii.git

Edit: Does someone have a tutorial on how to get this working. I navigated to my Wii Tools folder using command prompt, but I don't know how to open WiiED or WiiSO in command prompt. All I can do is type in the exe name and it says the following:
Quote:
F:\Sam\Wii tools>WiiSO
WiiSO by crediar
v 0.3

#wiidev on efnet

WiiSO.exe [-d] [-a] [-f] [-g] game.iso

Usage:
-d extract main.dol
-a extract apploader.img
-f extract fst.bin
-g extract game files

use game.iso only to extract everything

You first need to extract the image by typing wiied filename.ext, it then extracts the partitions as .bin-files. Then you use wiiso on the largest .bin-file and voilá you got the game files.

No, this means we can fiddle around with the files. We still can't boot discs with edited files since Wii uses a sign system. People are working on a workaround thou...

Anyone had any luck with the wave file headers btw?

I'm assuming I need to replace filename.ext with something, but what. I'm trying to rip the ISO out of GH3.
Edit: Oh, wait. Do I need to get the iso using some other software? That makes sense.

Ah right, sorry, I assumed you already had an iso of GH3.

2.0 of rawdump is out, about 2½ hours to rip discs now.

Although, with both of those apps you need a LG drive it seems.

Those are some comments after quickly looking at the files.

The QB files are almost the same as PS2 and PC. Everything is big endian, but the QBs for the songs also do have the "empty" section at the start of it. My tool to generate QB files should be very easy to adapt to it. So, not a big trouble with them.

The problem could exist with the sound files. Here's a little tool to get the FSB files for every DAT/WAD.

http://www.savefile.com/files/1332125

After that, you can extract them with FSBExt.

The problem is that the WAV files aren't WAV files. I've tried some RAW settings in Audacity but none of it worked.

They probably use a Wii-specific codec or are encrypted (there are some repetitive patterns, but anyway I'm not too good with audio files so I don't know).

I've tried some different formats but I either get nothing at all or alot of hissing noise and in the background (very low) the "real" sound.

Btw, in the specification of FSB3 files (here) they talk about "Other sound information". I don't know if these files follows those specifications byte by byte but any chance we can get some information from there?

I'm just gonna find a torrent of the iso, because I have an LG drive, just not the right one.

That talks aren't allowed on SH, even if you own the original disc

I thought that the rule was asking or distributing copyrighted materials.

It's just taboo to talk about. Subject change before any mods say anything about it.

I really hope this is the start of Wii customs. Are there any Pak files like the PS2 version?
