Apparently Activision has it's sights on getting RO, and, for the most part, looks like the deal's done...

So, what do you all think? My own opinions will come in time, (i.e. like when I'm not about to be running late for work.)

As long as they don't mess around with RO's operations too much, it shouldn't be a problem. Who knows, maybe this will also mean better music for the games with a more well known company backing them. I mean... Ace of Spades was already featured in some version of Tony Hawk. I don't remember which one, but that connection is a little interesting (although meaningless).

Sounds good to me. If they let RO do their thing in the game and pretty much just butt in to add these I'll be happy.

hopefully they wont change anything.

Nike bought the rights for Chuck Taylor's Converse shoes and they kept them the same. Same as Walkers bought the rights to a packet of Smiths crisps (Razzles I think) and theyre still made the same.

Because a company buys another one over or what doesnt have to mean it will change for worse

Well Harmonix designs the game, Red Octane just makes the controller and I'm sure has some involvement in production and possibly marketing.

As long as it has Harmonix's name on it; the game will be top quality.

I thought Harmonix added the music to RO's software? Why would Jon Tam be Executive Producer to a controller?

All Harmonix: code/art/authoring/etc.
Tam may be Producer; that doesn't mean RO wrote the thang.

That leads me to a somewhat related question, why do they keep on seeming to ask the RO people if it's coming out for other platforms if it's HMX that writes it? Wouldn't it be up to you guys to write the code for it to be playable on other systems, and therefore basically make whatever RO says on their own steaming heaps of fecal matter?
