|

http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3story.html?sid=6150322&pid=932565
The highlights from News:
-Some of the bass and rhythm parts we came across during our playtime could be called markedly more difficult than even the lead parts.
-The mechanics of playing co-op are sort of a crossbreed between the first game's single- and multiplayer modes. You're both tied to a single rock meter, a single star-power meter, and a single combo counter.
-Once your star-power meter is filled, you both have to tilt your guitars at the same time to enact the star power.
-The one new gameplay thing we did notice is the addition of three-button chords. These seemed reserved primarily for big finishes, but yes, there are times where you'll have to hit three buttons at once
Latest Guitar Hero II Video: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/puzzle/guitarhero2/media.html
The highlights from video:
- New Character: King Kendall
Bio: When he's not cruisin' around
Reno in his '53 Ford, King Kendall
brings his brand of hard-working
rock to any stage he sets foot
on. A real "road dog." Kendall
claims that as long as he's got his
hollow body and a tin of pamada,
he "ain't too far from home."
-Not much hope for online play.
-No comment on a new guitar model for II.
-Was hinted toward the possiblity of Guitar Hero going multi-platform now that Red Octane has been aquired by Activision.
-Single player is still only lead guitar.
-Co-op mode will either have Lead + Rhythm or Lead + Bass depending on the song.
-Practice mode will have preset sections that you will be able to choose from to practice by looping and slowing it down. _________________

BIG thumbs down for that.
Also, why only have three button chords for big endings? That seems like a waste to me. _________________

He said they were mostly for the big endings. And according to stv2049's Quick N Dirty GH2 Report and the images he took, it sure looked like the triple chord was in the middle of the song.
PS: I am stoked for GH2. _________________

Wow, the guys playing during the John Tam interview were absolutely awful, even on medium. I hope we can get some videos of some good players jamming on expert. _________________

I'm kind of disappointed that in single player mode you'll only be able to play the lead guitar. I was looking forward to messing around with the bass and rhythem guitar parts... I don't know anybody else who plays this game so I'm stuck in single player mode.
Still really looking forward to the game though :-) |

Anthrice, he said he won't be seeing it until '07 because he lives in Europe. _________________
