For me, believe it or not, would have to be one of the NHL games for PS2 where BigE and I would put ourselves on a team along with other friends/people we know. I mean, hell, it's the closest I ever felt to actually being in the NHL.

As for an RPG, it would have to Final Fantasy 8- I just felt like I really could identify with Squall and his situation with and feelings for Rinoa at the time, I think.

Fuck... that is a tough one. I've had movies like that, but I don't know about a game off-hand...

i feel like i do with almost any main character of any real good rpg that i`ve played. . . i tend to get really into the storylines. But definitely FF9 after all. . . i always found myself reacting with the character in the same ways instead of reacting at his situation.

Wow...this is really a toughy. Despite as far-fetched as they may be...the MGS series has always done an amazing job at putting me in the story. If not that then uh..maybe.....Harvest Moon?

That would most certainly be EQ. Over time, it became less and less vicarious and more and more living. So I quit. I haven't played another MMO since. And I probably never will.

Same deal with me except I played WoW. I quit and will never go back.

Same here, but because of Squall's rather aloof personality - I was (and still am) a lot like that. Easily the one character in my long video gaming history that I can best relate to. It's a bit ironic that that's what made me like the game so much at first, while many others who played it hated his personality. It seems like more people have warmed up to it in recent years, though.

(Unfortunately I lack the gunblade, though. )

Yeah, especially movies like Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. I really thought I was watching my life on TV.

As for games? Any game from the Ratchet and Clank series. Not sure why, they just really enveloped me until I felt like I was Ratchet (and Agent Clank on occasion).

I agree with the FFVIII concensus.

mmm....now don't get me wrong, I freakin' loved ToS's battle system, but the storyline felt like "Hey, there's 23957982375 RPGs out there. Let's just take all the archetypes from each of them and mash them together." However, I was able to keep playing because the twists were very entertaining.

Hmm....Yeah, I played WoW...yeah, I rock out with GH...but there was some inexplicable level of immersion for me with Virtua Fighter 4. I almost felt like I could kick ass after I played that game.
