Hey everybody i fixed it!!!!!
Step 1: you need to know where you installed your game. If it's the default location it would be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Aspyr\Guitar Hero III\ (Vista 64bit)
OR
C:\Program Files \Aspyr\Guitar Hero III\ (Other windows versions)
If you cant remember, then you need to guess really bad...but shouldnt be too hard.
Step 2: go into your CD and look for Cab.cab
I can already open it with vista without downloading any other software but im not sure about other OS's.
You should see numerous files with random letters and numbers and some other media files etc. Highlight Everything except the random letter/number files and copy them to your old install directory...if you already deleted that folder, remake it.
So now you should have all the files in it's original location and the installer will now be able to find it. Run the installer and tell it to uninstall. it should do it cleanly this time
Now just install it again and remember....un-install it properly next time ;)
I'm so happy i just figured it out. I might make this a new thread and maybe sticky it (i know im new but if someone could be so kind)
Lol this all started coz i wanted to play some trivium songs....what an adventure |

Well, today i got this Problem with the awl.dll file as well.
I tried to install some Custom Songs for Guitar Hero 3 and the new Programm called GH3 Control Panel said that the game wasnt installed properly, so I tried to reinstall it, but I couldn't uninstall...
So I deleted all the files and the registry Entries and tried the Fix of Plarx, but its not working
I can only choose between remove and repair, and when I click Remove the Error with the awl.dll file comes.
Pls help

I had exactly the same issue with the AWL.dll file. I followed what Plarx did and i uninstalled it and reinstalled it fine.
Now to try some custom songs! |

Maybe someone still access this site so...
If it says that awl.dll is missing from the program files folder / aspyr / guitar hero III, then put the awl.dll there.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/xd8isav1qdtrj97/AWL.dll
If the folder does not exist, create then.
I hope it helps, and if anyone has a custom music of the owner of a lonely heart for download, i will be so happy!
I used google translated so, sorry for the bad (at least, understable) english. |
