Apologies if this has been posted already. I didn't see it anywhere.

It doesn't mention how exactly you would separate the guitar track out, as he appears to be using the original tracks in the sample video. Still, the possibility of player-created content similar to StepMania is pretty exciting...

Which would explain why I couldn't comment on it.

That looks like it's gonna rock. All I need is a PS2 to USB cord and I'll be rockin out to all my music in no time.

This marks post 50. Whooooooooooo!

ooo Some things I notice though...tempo vs beatmap .... everything was at a constant tempo, while some songs were in different time signatures, and blatently different tempos to what was being done in the program. It is very possible to do this with stepmania really...not sure how SP would work...but you get the idea.

I'm supposing people could make thier tracks and post them? or would that break some kind of copywrite law? Cause I'd love to play some of these that people made, if it were done at least moderately well. I, however, have neither the time nor patience to mess with that kind of stuff.

I would love to start a group here for making songs as soon as it is released, figuring they actually have the ability to change the BPM, I don't know why they wouldn't include that.

If we had people here talking about what they are working on there would be no one doing the same song while simultaniously getting requests for songs that should be done and would be fun to play.

Anyone see this? It's a bit of an explaination of what he wants to do, it was buried in a bit of an obscure place so I thought I'd post it here for those that didn't find it. I think it's a bit outdated cause he mentions only being able to use midi sounds but the video he shows clearly doesn't use midi.

Seems interesting nonetheless, I wonder what kind of graphics he's going to do.

Maximus, consider me part of your group. I saw this yesterday and the first thing that came to mind was Fury of the Storm by Dragonforce.

As far as the BPM thing goes, I don't blame the guy. I used to make DDR stepfiles in high school and trying to match up the BPM was such a pain because most popular songs today (that aren't techno) do not hold a consistent tempo. I'm sure we'll have the option to sync those things up, but I honestly don't know why anyone would want to.

I get a bad feeling that, while the RedOctane of old would be 100% behind this project, RedOctane, the rhythm game division of Activision, wouldn't have any of it. Even if they wouldn't be making a profit off the Gibson SG controller and the Guitar Hero concept.

That being said, if my bad feeling is misdirected, I can't wait after seeing the demo video.

I honestly almost crapped myself when I saw that he tested out Crazy Train.

Since...you know...I've wanted that song in Guitar Hero since...forever.

But I still have to put Sweet Child of Mine in there. That's my main goal.

in a way its like that beatmania, exactly the same as DDR except the free version and you can put your own songs in.

I guess its ok he keeps it free and doesnt sell it for profit
