No, it doesn't seem so. |

I keep on hearing about the techinque, and every time I read the description on how to do it, it's confusing. A video tutorial of it would sure be nice to have, as it's easier for me to learn things by watching it. |
I just made this really quick and crude drawing in MSPaint to act as a visual aid, so here goes:
Imagine that in both of these scenarios, we're looking at the same 5 measures in a song. As well, we have 3 bulbs/half a bar of SP in both cases (this equates to 4 measures worth of SP). The blue rectangle indicates the location of where you are under SP. The big red spots are notes.
In Scenario 1, we are not squeezing. This is how people normally activate; you activate right before the first note that you want to be included under the activation. In other words, you want those 4 notes under SP, so you activate before the first one.
In Scenario 2, we are squeezing. This is much more advanced, in that you are activating SP much later than usual, but still activating in time to hit the first note. Because of this, the length of your SP remains the same (4 measures), but now, it has been moved to include the 5th note. That's squeezing in a nut shell. |

If that 5th note was a held note, how would you know if that entire note was x8? _________________

In the case of my picture, you might get no ticks from the sustain as SP seems to end right on the note (unless of course, you strum the note early, which is another part of squeezing). Let's say that the SP lasted just a second longer, and that the sustain on the 5th note is 3 seconds long. That simply means that you will have 8x for 1 second of that sustain, then it reverts back to 4x for the rest of it. |

Great guide, I usually whammy really fast so I get more "into" the song and want to whammy more. It's more psychological than strategy lol. |

sorry if i missed anyone saying this but what is the more popular way of pressing select: pinky or the side of the side of the palm? I'm having trouble figuring out which one i prefer so I'll just ask. |

You will never get the kind of activation control you need for reliable squeezing from tilting. |

Practice practice practice. It took me a little while to get used to it, but it's second nature now.
For now, just work on hitting the select/back button at the same time as you strum. Once you get that down you can tweak your timing later. |
