Feels like the spring or whatever's holding it in place ain't there no mo. I rubber band'd it around the bar and the strap peg as suggested in another thread, and it feels ok. Since it's Red Octane I'm not surprised it broke so quickly... it's not the first time I've had to rig their peripherals. _________________

I was going to suggest to do that, but I guess you've taken care of it. My whammy bar has a similar problem, and that's how I fixed it. |

And I've got a big-ass box of rubber bands at the ready, just in case _________________

I think my rubber bands kept shearing off around the posts (screws rub against band, etc).. so I put a hair tie-thing in there.. and it's doing really well. Just a suggestion in case the rubber bands break. _________________

Mine busted because of too many attempts to get the perfect run on Fire It Up.
I remember that day all too well....whammying a Star Power note...pushing it up and down....and it staying down. _________________

I think losing my whammy bar was significantly sadder than losing a pet. _________________
