Yeah... I was thinking about doing a guide, thought about how much work it would be to do the freticons, said "fuck it" and wrote a program to do it for me.

Wow... I really can't thank you enough for making all these! Are you planning on doing the same thing for the other games too?

Also, I'd like to ask a small favour - do you think I could link this thread on my GuitarHeroGuides forum? It would DEFINATELY be extremely useful for us over there.

Karatechess, I'd be careful about making posts like that. The original thread for eddyf's freticon editor got locked because people just kept posting random freticon patterns.

Yeah, please don't post any freticons at all in this thread, unless they are bug reports and just small sections. I only posted the TTFAF chart on the first page as a demonstration.

To thegibbonator:

Go ahead and link! (Though could you send me a link to where you post it so that I can see?)

I'm planning to do this at least for GHA (I'm just trying to figure out how to extract practice sections from the game files before I do that), and I may possibly do it for GH2, GH80s and GH1 too if I feel inspired.

(If you're lucky, I'll do it for RB!)

Thank you! I've created a sticky with a link to this thread, which can be found here: http://z15.invisionfree.com/Guitar_Hero_Guides/index.php?showtopic=122

Good to hear you're planning to do this for the other games too!

Now that this has been necro'ed...are you going to be able to/are you able to do this for Rock Band? Not having ever stuck my RB disc into a computer, I don't know if it uses the same file formats or what.

Holy god, dude! This would take out sooo much work from making a guide! This is amazing. Excellent work.

EDIT: Could you possibly post in in another format than a RAR? I can't use those.

Try to change the file extension from .rar to .zip, or just download winRAR.

Nice job, this will spare guide makers a lot of time

i second that notion. that TTFAF thing looked like a bag of skittles on crack lol.

this is gonna help me out in the future, thanks alot dude!

Yes, eventually. I have the necessary modifications mostly done actually.

I can't promise a time-frame because I don't really have a lot of time to work on it these days.

Also, has anyone ever actually used these for anything? I was making a push to put GHA in but it kind of fell by the wayside because it didn't seem like anyone was actually using the GH3 ones. Am I wrong?

I've been using them, and a link to this thread is still in a sticky on GHG, but I don't think anybody outside of GHG has really been using them. I think it's because these haven't really been noticed in the first place though - now that this thread has been brought back to life hopefully some more people will find and use these.
