I recently read somewhere that DNF development is continuing, and the interviewee acknowledged that they had made many mistakes on the original development, but that now they've hired a ton of new (and apparently talented) people, and have set a more realistic target for what the game will be delivering...

This does NOT mean that I actually believe it will ever materialize - it just means that the saga of DNF is not yet over
