I can't teach anything or learn anything until Christmas (Only computer I have is at work) But Christmas I'm getting a MacBook Pro so I'll be able to make some great instructional videos. Real professional looking. |

I guess I wouldn't mind signing up for a class so here we go:
Scorehero Username: GuitarGeek08
Class you wish to take: My Biggest Question is...
Time Zone: - 4 GMT (I think?)
I would prefer to use the following (please check box):
[]MSN [X]AIM []Ustream
I would prefer a teacher that: Knows at least the basics of altstrumming, Is good at alt-strumming on GH2 & GH3 (or GHA), and can do fast things such as KoC-type stuff since that will be the focus of me taking the class
My prefered time to be taught is: 7-8 pm
Let me know if you have questions, and I actually think there should be a class dedicated just to alt-strumming, considering its importance in GH. _________________

Class you wish to take: Okay, I'm not exactly looking for a specific 'class', but more or less I've found that I've hit a 'wall' in guitar hero, which means that I don't know what I should do to improve my skills because I seem to always be consistently getting the same scores with many songs. (I'm not that good, I've only FC'd Slow Ride and Closer) So, I'd like to take a class where the teacher can listen to what I've achieved, then help me construct a checkbox style list of things that I need to work and improve on.
Time Zone: GMT +10
I would prefer to use the following (please check box):
[X]MSN []AIM []Ustream
I would prefer a teacher that: Can remember what It was like when he wasn't a freaking machine at expert guitar hero, is willing to listen and is willing to help me and teach.
My prefered time to be taught: I live in a tricky timezone, so if I can exchange MSN addresses with my teacher, whatever time he is on will work best for me, I'm very flexible. (Will stay up all night) |

i think this whole thing is a marvelous idea, but how exactly do you teach someone any aspect of guitar hero? I've had people come to me asking me how to squeeze, and i really can't explain it. It just seems like its something that comes natural. Maybe im missing something here, or im just too stupid to explain it. Is it just the basic concepts of a certain area? _________________

Maybe teaching somebody is natural to some people, just like the concept of squeezing is natural to you.
For example, if I were teaching somebody about squeezing and how to squeeze, in short, I would say that it's the concept of getting more notes under star power, therefore getting more points. I would talk about the timing window, purposely hitting the first note late, but using star power right before the note's hit, so star power starts a little later, then hitting the last note a little early, etc.
Then, on how to actually perform a squeeze, I would talk about both tilt and select squeezing, explaining what they are, and then go more in-depth about both of them using my knowledge.
Something like that. It's the same for every concept. I can't really explain it, because it just might come a little more natural to me. |

There's another little forum that's been made, here, that you can look through and sign up on.
I'm not sure if anyone's active on it, though... |

the forums are somewhat active, they should really come alive in the next few days now that im back (i really do hate school). I studied my face off on GH:WT learning every little friggin aspect i could so i can make sure the surely hundreds of questions can be answered. i apreciate all the applications, but it would be super helpful if the applications could be taken to the other forum now to 1. increase its activity, and 2, make sure its read(as i have difficulty finding this topic -.-). Im also going to be assigning new staff positions for the purpose of just forum upkeep and class assignment rather than teaching the classes for anyone who is interested. Drop me a pm on the GHS forum and ill get back to you within 12 hours, guarenteed . ....asuming my power doesnt go out or something >_>. _________________
