1. Try to hit only single notes
2. Try not to ever hit more than 10 in a row (insuring no multiplier)
3. If you have to hit chords to not fail (as you do for a portion of this song) minimize the number of them you have to hit
I know some people are down a lot lower than me.. lowest i've been able to manage is ~27k with 71% hit notes.. I need to work on it.
I'm still debating if it could possibly be benneficial to actually use star power during the chord streak... You *have* to hit a number of those chords or you'll fail the song... with star power you could survive hitting only 1/3 of the chords you'd have to hit otherwise, but your score is doubled for the chords you do play... you are reducing the number of chords (a factor of 3) by more than you are increasing your score for them (a factor of 2) so ... maybe you get less points by using a star power there... i haven't decided, just a thought I had. It's counter intuitive, I don't know how it works in practice.
I wish the rock meter could give me a number of allowable misses along with the graphical meter, it's hard to tell exactly when I'm going to fail |
Yeah I want to know how people get below what I've been getting (~26k). I've done some experimentation with star power but generally it seems to make my score higher, not lower. You have to be really careful with it, in other words.
Also, I have to add a rule 4:
4. Don't do any extra strums, unless purposely breaking a streak. (It will lower your meter.) |

OK, that much I've figured out, but is there any kind of science to the rock meter? Is a missed note or an incorrect strum always the same amount of effect on it, or does it have any kind of variables to it? Seems like my rock meter plummets when I miss more than 3 consecutive notes -- moreso than missing 3 notes would be normally.
And what percentage higher does the rock meter go on star-empowered notes? If it's more than 100%, you could come out ahead there. |

So far as I know, every miss or extra strum takes the same amount off of the rock meter. It takes 3 hit notes to add one back on... so to keep the rock meter dead center you have to hit 3 notes for every one you miss. Star power makes every note move the rock meter 3 times more than it would without star power so during star power it's 1 miss to 1 hit to keep the rock meter even.
I might be wrong about some of this, especially the part about normal hits requireing 3 hits to equal 1 miss, but that's what I've always believed the case to be and it seems right. |

If those numbers are right -- especially the SP part -- it could actually be useful to use star power so you can go to sleep a bit more later on. Anyone know for sure? If not, I may have to experiment...except I'm too busy working on FTK. I'm having fun improving that song, unlike the other two that are just zzz except for 3 quick snippets between them. (I still enjoy playing them, but they aren't as much of a challenge, so I'm just frustrating them til I put my practice sessions together and FC it. Played Solo B in CP a slew of times today, and then couldn't even pretend to hit it for real.) |

Crap, I can't pull myself together and get the GF FC :S
Had several runs where I actually nailed the solo's, but screwed up at
other stupid places... _________________

I'm just about sick and tired of playing these songs, but I'm kind of disappointed with my FTK score... maybe I'll work on it a bit more. Finally hit under 26k on TNB though, but still... not that good. |

This percentage limit is pissing me off. Every good run I've had has been below 65%, including a run that would've been around 24,500.
Anyways. Here's my...prelims. Hah.
GF: 23x,xxx (not an FC)
CP: 19x,xxx (FC)
FTK: 27x,xxx (the best I've ever done on the song. )
TNB: 26,xxx (yeargh.)
I continuously miss one part in GF, so I plan on FC'ing that. Once I get that, I'll buckle down on the twist. I just...don't like hitting notes on a Low Score run. My score could be WAYYYYYYYYYY lower if I didn't have that damn limit to worry about. _________________

Might as well say what mine were, all the cool people are doing it.
CP : 19x,xxx Fced with a bad SP activation...
GF: 23x,xxx Fced with a bad SP activation...
FTK 28x,xxx apparently thats good
TNB: 28,xxx should have done more than two runs.
not bad considering each week i have submitted my scores within the same day as hearing the song list. _________________
