Based on pairs of scores and multipliers, I've tried to estimate the cutoffs for vocals. It seems that the base score is 500 * number of phrases. I haven't found any elements that add to the base score. Crowd sections and freestyle sections contribute 0 to the base score as far as I've observed.

For each song, I've used the following method to find an estimate for the cutoff:

1. Play the song, write down the score and multiplier
2. Plug all the data into a small computer program I wrote, which calculates the following:

- Base score = score / multiplier, round to nearest 500, display rounding error
- Note streak = base score / 500
- Cutoff 4* = Base score * 2.0
- Cutoff 5* = Base score * 2.8 (always an integer when base score is a multiple of 500)

Here's the estimates:

I haven't done any research on lower difficulties. It could be as easy as different base scores per phrase (100, 200, 300, 400).

The cutoffs above are consistent with all non-5* vocals scores submitted so far by the top 6 or so players, except with two of HylianHero's scores (Never too late and Escuela de calor). It could be because of typos from his side, or typos in my data, which were typed in manually as I played.

I'd appreciate any feedback whether the above data is correct or wrong. I hope this can be of help in determining the exact cutoffs.

EDIT 1: Fixed cutoffs for two songs
EDIT 2: Decided to proof one song manually, to check my estimates.

So then the formula for determining extended ratings from avg. multiplier would be:
rating = (average multiplier - 2) / 0.8 + 4

For example, a 13.575x on About a Girl is worth
(13.575 - 2) / 0.8 + 4 = 18 stars.

And the formula for determining extended ratings from score would be:
rating = (score / base score - 2) / 0.8 + 4

Can someone check my math?

I thought these would be useful because so many huge scores are appearing.

Your math is correct. It would be an estimated 18.5 stars
