I am looking to recruit 7 players for a Diablo 2 LoD, v1.11 (newest), 8 player, new character, hardcore game. The game will go until the party is completely wiped, or until we beat the game on hell mode. The game will always be set on players 8, and it will most likely take multiple sessions to play this through. Post here if you are interested. |

I found another player, so now I just need 5 more. This is an SOS to all you D2 fans out there!
Dont worry, we'll probably all wipe sometime in nightmare. |

Im in, got to dust it off first.

what kind of playing schedule are we talking here?
I'd be interested to give this a try, but I have a pretty tight schedule what with working 8-5h30 Monday-Friday, and not having much time to play over the weekends.
I really wouldn't like to be the person who is holding everybody else up (also, a game with hardcode characters would probably result in me dying on that Maggot boss on the second stage as usual ) |

Don't worry wulfe, I'm not that good at D2, so I'll probably die somewhere along the way in either Normal or Nightmare. I'm not good at Hardcore. |

OK, so we have me, websurfertai, wulfe, pat, and my friend from college so far? thats 5, we're close to my goal.
Wulfe: The schedule would be To Be Determined; we would probably play weeknights if thats what works for you; I work 8-4:30, so I am in the same weekday schedule as you pretty much. |

Yeah - weeknights shouldn't be a problem for me - doubt I'll last too long though - I've never really tried to play a hardcore character, but I know my non-hardcore characters died a surprisingly pathetic amount of times
Fun game though! |

Just remember the following skill trees that benefit the entire party the most:
Paladin- auras
Barbarian- shouts
Necromancer- curses
When done right, a groups whole should be greater than the sum of their parts. |

My first post in over a month!!! I've been too addicted to WoW to bother with GH...
A-anyway, a fool proof way to not have anyone die and have maximum carnage is to have everyone be a skellie mancer. (Skeleton summoner). I used to play one all the time because my computer would always lagg up, and I needed something to keep up with the game.\
Only downside to that would be that everyone would have huge lagg, and in nightmare and hell difficulties, getting the first few skeletons is difficult.
It sounds like fun, but I'm too into WoW and my schedule conflicts with the times that you'd be playing as I mostly work nights and weekends. _________________

Well thats what hirlings are for...
But skelemancers have a few tough spots.
First, andaria, because she has poison that can hit everyone around her at once (killing your skeletons in normal mode because they are still weak).
Secondly, the sand maggot lair, because the skeletons have to attack one at a time because of the narrow passageways. Although skeleton mages help a lot here.
Thirdly, diablo, because of his ring of fire, will kill most skeletons in one hit in normal mode. And with 8 people all having skeletons and skeleton mages, that is probably a good 60 corpses wasted when diablo does his ring of fire.
But you could get lucky.
That is why I want diversity :p
But I'm not going to ask anyone to decide or even reveal what they are going to be before the game starts. Its more fun for it to be a surprise. |
