Well, after that, I think I’ve came to one of three conclusions:
1) I enjoy playing a REALLY wide variety of games, both known and unknown:
2) I feel old now
3) I might be a good person to start some sort of a topic where I take pictures of games, maybe alter them slightly, and see if you guys can identify them. Anyone interested? |
I am in for the game guessing game ^_^ And I also agree on all 3 counts as well.
Also, post pics of your collection in this thread. I have pics of mine in there, and in my sig. _________________

IIRC, Ehrgeiz was a pseudo-sequel to Tobal #1 with characters from Final Fantasy 7 and a few other random SS games. You would fight an enemy with two health bars at the top of the screen (like any other fighting game), but once the fight was over you'd run through the level and take out minor baddies before reaching another major fight. Good choice. _________________

BEST FUCKING PUZZLE GAME INVENTED
I doubt anyone has heard of it. It really is a GREAT fucking game.
If you like puzzle game play it!
Your basically given an objective such as, "Push the ball". But it's not that simple. You need to use contraptions at your disposal to actually complete your goal. |
Capcom made a version of this game featuring Ghouls n Ghosts characters for the Japanese Saturn/Playstation. It's called Nazomakaimura: Incredible Toons, or just Incredible Toons if you're not into the whole Japanese thing. I have a lot of puzzle games for my JAP Saturn, but somehow I've never gotten around to picking that one up. _________________

I am greatly suprised that nobody even mentioned the great game Grim Fandago. That has to be one of the most underrated games of all time. It has an amazing storyline and it's very hilarious. It's from the genious mind behind Psychonauts and The Secret of Monkey Island, Tim Schafer. Schafer has always made great amazing games with some of the best storylines, but for some reason, almost all of his games garner no reconition, even though are considered by many to be some of the greatest games ever made. _________________

The reason I didn't mention it is because I've always been under the impression that while nobody actually played Grim Fandango, everybody's heard of it. It was awesome, and urgently needs to be made into a film, but people have heard of it.
At least, that's my read. "Games nobody has heard of" should include stuff that is genuinely rare (or old), not "stuff that everybody should have played". I could name a hundred ZX Spectrum games that I'm pretty sure that nobody will have heard of, because the machine's life ran out before most of ScoreHero's membership were born and it wasn't that big in America. Big games like Grim Fandango and Chip's Challenge and other classics are all known, even if not widely played.
