|

Alright, hello all, I'm new here, but that'ds besides the point. My hammer; a wireless guitar for the PS2, is going to be painted. It's my understanding that using krylon fusion spraypaint makes it to where I don't need to prime or sand. My questions are:
Do you have advice for makig nsure the buttons don't stick?
Is it completely important to use lacquer?
Should I prime or sand anyways?
Thanks guys. |

I've never painted a guitar before but I know that if you use the right kind of sandpaper to sand it down, it will look better. (500-1000 grit?) Primeing it will also help the colours stand out better. As for the buttons, if you take the guitar apart and remove the buttons before you paint them, you should be ok. _________________

if the buttons do stick, just sand the sides down, and the inside of the hole they go in down a bit.
that will fix your problem.
Priming it is almost required if you are painting it a bright color. (unless the guitar already comes white, then its ok).
I don't know what color your guitar is, but if you are painting anything besides red(dark), brown, black, or purple(dark), Id recommend priming it. |

Thanks guys, I'm sure that it'll help, and Wil... I'm painting it dark green, is that good with those colors that you mentioned? Also, I do take the buttons out first, but they still stick, I'll try sanding them, thanks. |
