I was digging around my room the other day looking for a pair of earphones, and found my old crate of PS1 games. I opened it up and was hit by two things. The musty smell that comes from 7 years of dormancy, and some strong nostalgia. I proceeded to randomly pick Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. After 5 minutes, I was back to where I was when I played it as a 8-10 year old. I remember always laughing at my mom when she played, because she wouldn't leave until she had all the gems. I just liked to run through levels, torch some Rhynoc butt, and go to the amusing mini games (gladiator skateboarding FTW!). But now, after becoming a more serious gamer, I was gem whoring. It was kinda strange.

Has anyone else ever pulled out one of their all time favorite games after a long time of not playing? Has the way you played changed? I'd like to hear some other people's stories/opinions.

I played some Area 51 the other day, a PS2 game I haven't played in a while. I still got that feeling of a zombie behind me when you're trying to get into the room with the access card in it, kind of like a rushing feeling.
Aah...good memories.

I pulled out FFXII a few weeks ago and decided to do a bunch of the side quests that I hadn't done before. I haven't managed to work up the motivation to kill Yiazmat yet, but I've done the other hunts and farmed most of the side stuff worth farming.

My ps2 won't play ps1 games anymore, there's some I'd love to go back and play =( For some reason when I put a ps1 game in my ps2 it rubs against something, and it happens with ALL of my ps1 games. I've never been able to figure out what the problem is.

I turned on my SNES the other day, and I tried out some Stunt Race FX. Boy was I surprised at how much that changed since I played it as a kid. I suddenly sucked ass at it, and didn't find it fun at all and just put it back on my shelf.

I also pulled out Castlevania for the NES a while back, and that was interesting. I managed to get farther than I used to as a kid, but holy shit was it frustrating and hard after awhile. First time I threw an NES controller across the room in a LONG time.

Genesis all the way. When I was at my parents I dug out my old Genesis and got to work. Man, talk about nostalgia. I popped in Sonic and Revenge of Shinobi and just could not stop. I remember buying the massive arcade joystick controller at a flea market when I was like 9 years old and using that thing again was so awesome. I wish I could hook it up to my LCD monitor but I don't think they make a Genesis to VGA adapter.

1 is great, but I find 2 & 3 better, due to more exploration oportunities. The original game was slightly more linear, and didn't have the epic mini-games of 2 & 3. I liked three the most, because of all the hidden fun to be had, and the new playable characters.

N64: Goldeneye. The ultimate classic game for you and your old school friends to play.

PS1. Has to be Spyro 2 and Croc 1 for that genre. But most classic? Going back and playing Metal Gear Solid. Completed it on hardest level. Went back, couldnt do it at all. Such a good game!!!

I just picked up Banjo Kazooie on the Xbox live arcade, and STILL hate rusty Bucket Bay. I guess time doesn't change all things.

I have this kind of feeling all the time... but then again I own more old games than new games by like 4:1.

A good friend and I always have 1943 competitions on the NES.

Ah, I have this game too.
Hah, playing co-op with my bro was pretty fun. That game lasted us pretty long. We nearly got all the weapons and such. Then I deleted the VMU data
But we got a new VMU anyway. I occasionally play my old SNES or Dreamcast. Killer Instinct is hard And quite annoying too.

Lol, I knew I wasn't the only one that loved Power Stone.

But as for Killer Instinct, that game is massively epic. I never lose my skill at it because I got the MAME version on my PC, lol.

ULTRAAAAAA COMBOOOOOOO!!!
