Has anyone gotten Trippolette working on a Gameshark w/ Media Player (also known as version 5b)? I just entered the codes listed on gameshark.com. The program simply says that some codes are incorrect. I've triple checked the codes to the printout and they are fine. I checked Trippoletteiscool.net and the codes for every single version of Gameshark deviate from the codes listed on Gameshark.com. What the hell?

I think that's the version I had.. I couldn't get it working when everyone else could. Eventually, phnord suggested this Master code:

940417A0 1936C36C

And that worked for me, with the original code he posted:

I'd like to kill the dumbasses at Gameshark.com. The code you posted is what is listed at trippolette.iscool.net. The codes listed on Gameshark.com are completely different from those, most noticably that the song codes use a completely different set of address ranges and the memory content values are different.

Is there any way to get the code into the Gameshark application without having to type it in with a keypad? I read a post somewhere about being able to merge files when inserting a USB flash drive but I've not seen any examples of a saved cheat file and Gameshark.com will only let you download save files and not codes. I may have to type in the whole set of codes again.

Btw, what differentiates the code as a master code? Is it just the (M) that is in front of the cheat name? The cheat name is not purple like in the pre-defined cheats although colors may be due to special characters that only MadCatz can enter

I think it just knows when you enter a master code. You don't need to name it anything specific. They're almost always 1 line.. and it generally auto-selects the master code if you select any other code too.

Oddly enough, I got the codes on Gameshark.com to work with a few modifications. Simply delete the folowing lines from the codes listed for the Gameshark w/ Media Player:

Master code:
delete 76087C70 00000000

Song code:
delete 760CB0B0 00000000

I think what differentiates a master code from a song code is that the memory addresses contained in the master codes (the first set of hex digits on each line) are outside of the physical memory address space where the PS2 EE Core RAM is mapped. The EE Core RAM resides at addresses $20000000 to $3FFFFFFF and addresses $4000000 to $7FFFFFFF are reserved for "extend main memory"

In any case, I find it odd that the Gameshark.com and Trippolette.iscool.net codes both work and yet they each have wildly different memory addresses and contents specified in their listings.

P.S. Trippolette is farking impossible
