Sorry if this has been answered before, but it didn't look like any thread had a title relating to this. I have two questions about use of the bass pedal. I recently started playing drums (figured out what I was doing wrong with the tuning kit), and I decided to start on expert.

I can play fine except for some faster rolls, but my bass pedal seems to bounce a lot. I usually get a double hit with it, does anybody have a suggestion for ending that?

Thanks for any responses

You're going to have to narrow it down for us.

So, if you play normally it double hits often/a lot/sometimes?
If it's from you playing during rolls does that mean you're hitting it somewhat abnormally hard?

Test this: go into the music maker and do a quick "stomp" and raise your foot as fast as you can. (Just dont do anything hard enough to damage it) Did it double hit? Now, play a steady beat of quarter notes progressively getting faster. Does it double hit? If so, is it only towards the fast notes?

If so, it sounds like a sensitivity issue, i.e. when your foot is coming up, the springs energy is making the pedal hit in the resting position harder than supposed to. Try just tweaking the pedal down some.

Also, I know I had this problem and another person on here; That thin rubber circle piece between the "mallet" and the sensor may have become sticky and when you pick up your foot between hits, this cause the pedal to become desynced from your foot sending it up with more pressure and causing a double hit. What I did was remove that piece and it has worked perfectly since.
