I can already do Hammer-Ons fairly well so I'm not worried about them right now. But, I usually have problems playing a 3 note Pull-Off (EX: YRG) whenever I try to do it. So far, I've been using the tutorial and I Love Rock n' Roll on Expert.

If you're willing to wait through the entire song, Ziggy Stardust's ending may be good.

Damn, I forgot to mention that I wanted the parts to be closer to the beginning to middle of the songs. But, Ziggy does have some Pull-Offs I could practice in the beginning.

The repeating sections with three note pull offs have been kicking my ass..

Killer Queen on Expert has this but with the one note alternation.. Any help on mastering these would be welcome.

After you get the three finger pull-off, slide your hand up the fret board, and (if you're fast enough) you can get the BYR part with a simple pull-off. Slide it back up to get the next OBY, then back down for the next BYR part. And so on.

The only really other option you have if you're trying to do pull-offs are to use your pinky to hit the O, ring finger to hit the B, middle finger to hit the Y, and index finger for the R. Then, you can just get the OBY with your pinky, ring, and middle fingers, and the BYR with the ring, middle, and index fingers.

that queen ending.. I don't do pull offs.. I just strum.... Usually I only miss one. Which is enough to keep me from 100%...

for some reason holding the guitar straight in the air (like activating star power) is the way I do this final run and I usually hit all of them...I just single pick and have one finger down for every note. Probably not the most effective way but it gets me by.

Take It off has the same thing Ziggy does except in the middle, that could help a lot, it is a YRG multiple times...I hate it so much.

Yeah, I find that strumming is much easier and more reliable.

Krimsun has FC'd ziggy by alternate strumming the ending, so you don't need to master HO/POs to be an excellent player.

But you do need to master either PO/HO or alternative strumming, for the YRG in Take It Off and Ziggy I fail terribally...I need to work on that...a lot, but as for the ending in Killer Queen, with a little practice I will 100% it (maybe not the song, but I hope it will be a good day) I have that down to have a decent score.

I know you don't have to use them, but they're something I'd like to learn.

The songs I'm currently using to practice HOPO's are:

Texas Flood (Medium)
Texas Flood (Hard)
Ziggy Stardust (Hard)
Fat Lip (Hard)
Cochise (Hard)
Frankenstein (Hard)
Behind the Mask (Hard)

I'm sure you could also practice these on Expert, but the other notes are a bit of a distraction right now. Once I get more confident in my HOPO skills, I'll re-tackle all of Expert without strumming ANY whitecaps at all.

I'm like you though, I like doing HOPO's for entertainment and a truer rock god experience. Plus, there's plenty of time till November, so why not. Anyone can get a high score, but how many people can play the last half of Killer Queen one-handed?

Mr. Green

The problem is, hammer-ons and pull-offs are unreliable.

So? They're incredibly fun!

Maybe this is the wrong crowd for that though. I should go register HOPOhero.com!

They're not unreliable, you just have to have much more exact timing than you would if you strummed. The trouble is your fingers are less reliable, not the HOs/POs. Not trying to be insulting, just making a general statement.
