I've been noticing that when I play online, sometimes my opponent will miss notes, but it will say that they get a star power when they missed it. It doesn't give them the star power but the lightning strikes as if they did. So I'll hear plink plink or something then WOOSH and it fucks with me sometimes. Anyone else notice this or other things? Such as getting points for ticks when they don't hold them. _________________

I remember GH3 was notorious for not displaying what was actually going on on the opponents side, and dropped holds and odd SP collection was part of that.
Not sure about WT, I don't play that online but that's another story. _________________

I've noticed a lot of people will bitch and moan when I beat them on a song they can't play at all... Oh wait, that's not weird is it?
Well playing on a monitor, I find it strange that the co-op fretboards sort of float above the bottom of frame, when it should be on the bottom... _________________

All this stuff happens because the game is lagging behind and GH compensates by making the opponent side play bot perfect (like boss battles) and miss when the player misses. Since lag exists, the bot will usually strike star power before your console is told they actually didn't. This is also why it always looks like the online opponent overstrums every time they mess up instead of the notes just passing by. You both strike a sustain, then when the signal finally gets to you that he missed, it looks like he actually hit the sustain then plink'd and didn't get the points.
So yeah, GH compensates lag by preempting how it should go and making the necessary adjustments when match info gets between consoles. |
