Hmmm, some good Wii Games?
Well here you go

Standard Stuff:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Nothing to say really, it's Legend of Zelda on a console, so it's awesome

Mario Galaxy
Good twist on the Mario platformer, very enjoyable

Resident Evil 4
One of the greatest shooters ever made (and imo better than RE5)

Other games:

Madworld
Enjoyable game that should last you a little while, one of the few rated M games you can get for the Wii

Order Up!
For some reason I really enjoyed this game, and my sister enjoyed it as well.

Trauma Center
Fun game, but it can get very fucking hard. I would recommend getting the second one so you can play Co-Op with a friend

Also.
NEVER EVER GET FUCKING COOKING MAMA FOR THE WII

Goddamn was that a disappointment.

I've been playing the DS a lot lately so I'll give some suggestions for that system.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen: Awesome RPG, if you've ever liked any of the Dragon Quest games, this remake will not disappoint. I imagine that the sequel, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride is just as good, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

Any of the DS Castlevania games, they are all good.

Mario Kart DS is solid, as is New Super Mario Bros. and Elite Beat Agents.

Can't you make a section for multi-console games? It's annoying that all three home consoles have CoDWaW and the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 lists are almost completely identical.

I was trying to figure out a way to reduce the amount of identical entries, but at the same retaining the ability to easily find games for one particular platform. That is a good idea though, I'll play around with it....

EDIT: Alright, updated the OP with those changes. I think it looks good.

Also, can anyone recommend some good DS games that have good co-op? I've heard decent things about the Crystal Chronicles series but outside of that I'm kind of in the dark. Me and my girlfriend are looking for some good games to play together.

I have two recommendations that I would like to share.
PC, Xbox 360: MASS EFFECT. If you enjoy space travel, cyborgs, machines, science, black holes, space colonization, third person shooters, and RPG's, you must experience this game. It has many many things to do and the replay ability is superb. The shooting is fun, the weapons are cool in that you can modify them with ammo and such, the cover system is neat, the physics are awesome, the conversation dialogue thing is awesome, and the story is EPIC! There is only one game that I enjoyed more and that is...
PC, Xbox: THE ELDER SCROLLS III: MORROWIND. This game is the best game that I have ever played. Even with the unmodded game there are so many things you can do. From picking ingredients to make potions to raiding demonic sanctuaries, it's there. No game has ever made me feel more immersed, no game is as in depth. The options are limitless. There are so many weapons and armor pieces that your mind will be blown. There are so many NPC's and cities and caves to explore. The game is the best game that you can get for the Xbox, hands down. Or, if you have a PC, get it. There are hundreds of mods available, and if you don't like old style gfx, there are even mods to upgrade that.

Fenster, the DS is a tough platform to find quality multi-player games in general, much less games that have an enjoyable co-op in addition or in lieu of a versus mode (e.g. Mario Kart is of course a lot of fun, but you aren't really playing together). I, too, have heard good things about Crystal Chronicles, and that's probably a good choice. One other suggestion I may make if you guys are looking for a hell of a challenge is Contra 4. It's a fun title, and plays pretty true to the NES original, but it is HARD. I'm not sure how skilled or "hardcore" your GF is when it comes to video games, but she might be a little discouraged playing this... But if you guys somehow manage to pull out a completion of the game, maybe it will bring you closer as a couple . OK, that sounded cheesy, but you get the idea. Bottom line is there aren't a lot of quality co-op games out there for the DS. Sorry, man.

Ive got another recommendation for PS3

inFamous- This game is awesome. You can play a hero or a villain in a sandbox type game that reminds me of Spiderman 2 except inFamous is much better.

I must say, a good game for the PS2 for football is ESPN NFL 2K5. Sure, it was made 4-5 years ago, but people still compare it better to today's Maddens.

Burnout: Revenge is good for the PS2, too.

And for PC, add Roller Coaster Tycoon. All but 3, because 3 is terrible

For the old school gamers, there's a new game that came out for the 360 called Raiden Fighters Aces.

Its a compilation of the 3 Raiden Fighters games, Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet.

In my personal opinion, Raiden Fighters Jet is worth the price alone. Also, this is the first time these particular Raiden games got introduced into the US.

Oh and I forgot about the price. $20 at Gamestop.

Ok, well this isn't really a "game" suggestion question, but more a console suggestion... question... tion...

Anyway, I was wondering who though it would still be worth it to buy a Wii. I know Microsoft and Sony are in the works for their new consoles, but I haven't really looked into Nintendo much considering I don't own one. Would it still be worthwhile to buy a Wii considering the next next-gens could be on the market soonish?

Any opinions?

For a while, there was a rumor for the second Wii, which apparently has an internal hard drive. That's about all I know, and I don't even know if it was true or not.

So Sony and Microsoft are going to put out a new type of console? Could you provide a source? Just wondering, considering to my knowledge, neither company mentioned any such thing in the works at E3.

Define "soonish..." Because I highly doubt any of the Big 3 have plans to release another console before 2012. With the number of people bringing their console online increasing immensely, and the easily-implemented and frequent updates that are now available (massive updates like the New Xbox Experience were not even possible on the original Xbox), it's becoming less necessary for each company to continuously shell out a new console every five years. So don't be too worried about regretting a new-generation console purchase at this time, as you will surely get a lot of playtime out of it before the next batch of consoles arrive.

With that said, if you've grown up with any of Nintendo's consoles and enjoy the core franchises, the Wii should be a no-brainer purchase, regardless of Sony and MS are doing. Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, SSB:Brawl, and Zelda: Twilight Princess are fantastic games in the series (I'd take the Gamecube version of Zelda over the Wii version, but that's another topic). And while I think Nintendo's first-party titles justify the purchase enough, other third-party games like Okami and No More Heroes are a great addition to any Wii library.

Well, thanks for the insight guys.

I am seriously considering getting a Wii. What got me thinking about it was my initial thoughts of getting an old Gamecube again. I like hording consoles, lol. Before I moved across country I had to get rid of a lot of my gaming gear, so I'm trying amass it all again.

The main thing that is pulling me towards a Wii is actually the sports games I've seen. Tennis, baseball, golf, etc. They look amazingly fun by being able to interact with the game beyond my thumbs. Other than that, the games that have been mentioned are also a big, big plus.

Also, I know the Xbox 360 has had it woes with the RROD... has the Wii (or any version of it) had any such problems I should be aware of, and make note of when purchasing one?

None whatsoever.

Just the rare drive going bad, in which you don't need to do anything special like the 360, its just buying a new drive, open it up, and swap it.

I think some of the games teetering on 4 votes deserve to make the top game list, so I'll throw in votes for Mario Kart DS and Brawl. Both are very enjoyable games on their respective Nintendo platforms and actually do a decent job of utilizing Nintendo's wi-fi connection for some occasionally enjoyable online play.

And I wish I could vote twice for BioShock, it's that good. C'mon people!
