It should be a pretty big tournament. They are aiming for 200 participants. The tournament for 12 and under will only last about 5 hours but the tournament Saturday could go on all day depending on how many people show up.

The person hosting the tournament asked for my advice on how she should run it and we eventually agreed on players choice of hard or expert up until the semi finals then expert the rest of the way. I may talk to her and say only expert after the first 2 rounds but normally people on hard aren't that good and won't be fcing songs on hard so it shouldn't be a problem. She may change the rules around but I am pretty sure it will be players choice until semi finals.

I don't know what the prizes are going to be but from the looks of it the prize should be pretty big (200 participants x 20 = $4,000 pot = ~60% 1st ~20% 2nd ~5% 3rd). I'm guessing that is how they will do it unless they give away the whole pot which then it would be 70% 20% 10% probably. I doubt it will be cash prizes though, you will probably win prizes or something.

Then again, it might just be something small like an xbox 360 since you pay 20 for a chance to win a 360. That still isn't a bad prize for a 20 dollar entry fee other than odds are against you with 200 people.

Enough of me thinking out loud, no matter what the prize is, it is still a tournament which is always fun.

They said they aren't having as good of a tournament as they had hoped for which probably means it won't be too big of a prize.
