When strumming the main riff, i know you alt strum the 3 gallops but do you alt strum the chords afterwards? or down strum those?

Thanks

That's personally how I do it, it takes a bit of stamina but it's really consistent.

Also: 3 gallops?

Maybe he/she meant 3-note gallops? It's redundant, but I read it that way.

I actually alt-strum everything in Battery's verses, and I'm pretty consistent with it (only played GHM's Battery once, but I had to play Battery on RB2 a bunch to get the 5-star.) That said, I very rarely hybrid-strum anything ever. Try a few things and see what works for you, I guess.

I alt-strum everything, the part you have to watch out for is the then it switches to

The one missing note can trip you up and make you overstrum.

Well, the note's not really missing, there's just a yellow-blue chord there. Really, just do whatever seems easier to you, neither one's better than the other really. Personally though, I alternate throughout the song.

If you have trouble with the gallops you can abuse the timing window and play it like instead of .

I find it more consistent to just play it how it actually is. When I started down-strumming the chords, my score jumped a shit-load. I would highly advise doing that.

I find that it's much easier to stay in rhythm if you do the way ShadowDude posted, as opposed to just alt-strumming through the whole thing. It's easier because every down strum is evenly spaced and on the beat, with some upstrums in between. In fact that's a pretty good formula for strumming almost any pattern. It only breaks down when it gets REALLY fast, like in War Ensemble.
