$60 for Smash Hits?

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I feel like $60 for a game of songs that have already been released is excessive. I'll wait until someone posts it on Craigslist or something.

I'm still planning on getting the game soon, but $50-$60 is pretty expensive. But this is Activision we're talking about, so I'm pretty used to it.

This game is definitely only worth a rent if you have gh 1-3. Lets face it $60 for a game with songs we've already had is a bit outrageous. Even though its got full band on the songs I'm not getting suckered in.

If the game was simply exact copies of the old versions, youd be right. But since they have not only released masters of tracks that were previously covers, they've also charted the other instruments and put it in the new engine, for that I think its worth it.

I would agree that it's too much money IF it weren't for the fact that they had to re-licensce all of the songs. I can understand not wanting the game because you already have the songs, but that really has NOTHING to do with how they determined the price of the game.

You can say that it's too much since it only has 40 some songs compared to 80+ for GHWT and RB2, but "I already own them" doesn't really fly.

I bought this game as soon as it was available. I see where everyone is coming from but the masters and re-charts really make all the songs feel brand new. I haven't had this much fun with a GH game since GH. Literally since then I've been on scorehero and pumping out FC's, 5*'s, Scores and the like leaving competition as the number 1 in my Guitar Hero experience, but this game I am just having so much genuine fun with. The other games may be fun but this game has something different about it which makes me enjoy it more and I am very happy with the money I spent. Hell XBL is down today and I haven't played online yet and I still love the game.

I've been playing a few days now and all I can think is that Neversoft ruined the charts for my favorite songs. Partially because it's the masters rather than covers, but I hate almost every change they made to the charts, seems like it's solely for artificial difficulty.
