Basically a guy killed his own mother after playing 18 straight hours of halo which, supposedly, created a mental state where he thought death wasn't permanent.

I SWEAR this thing couldn't have happened ANYWHERE else in the world. That bullshit stories are taking over.
btw "he fled away with the game": so pathetic. |

This...18 hours out of 24 is insane and if that got him into thinking death wasn't permanent, there's something wrong with him. I'm still in awe after reading that |

Not the game's fault. I've said this many times. If you play something for 18 hours and let it mess with your head like that, it's your fault, NOT the game's. _________________

People always like to blame games but it's kind of like blaming McDonalds. If you're obese, it's your fault for eating it. Maybe it was his parent's fault partially, for letting him play that long. _________________

As strange as it is, it isn't surprising. Like directshot said, playing something for an 18 hour session is bound to mess with your head.
Also, was he a metal fan at all? If so that'll give the media something else to blow out of proportion. _________________

Expect U.S. legislation any day now that limits video gameplay to two hours a day. _________________

Are you serious?
Yeah, you wouldn't know him... until his addictive personality led him to drugs/alcohol/gambling or all three. These would more than likely have led him down an even worse path and he STILL would have shot someone. _________________

If violent video games didn't exist, it was violent music's fault. If violent music didn't exist, it was marijuana's fault. If that didn't exist, it was alcohol's fault. If that didn't exist......etc etc etc.

Wasn't there a thread on this exact thing a few months ago? Regardless, this kind of thing is nothing new. Actually, the fact that this kind of things is nothing new is nothing new, considering that exact phrase appears in nearly every post of every one of these threads. It's a close second behind "LOL the mediaz a joke lawl" and "Crazy people are crazy lol." We all know that the media fabricates all sorts of controversial things. The only people who really believe that video games cause violence are the people who watched the news and didn't catch the memo that it's not news, it's entertainment and you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Sure, it's nice to be the almighty truth bringer and reveal the common man's misconception -- that's every teenager on the internet's favorite hobby -- but there's nothing to say here because we all agree. So why do we still post these articles? |

Yeah, I mean seriously... why should someone actually have to take responsibility for their own actions? It isn't fair! _________________

onoz vidjeo gamez messed up my head and now I stepped on stage with a fake plastic geetar what do I do?
c'mon, we've never heard of that. It's always the shooter games. I've never once heard of a construction worker who was addicted to tetris, and tried to keep one brick out in fear that the line will disappear. _________________
