You're too kind .
But you must be better than me.
I mean, come on, I don't even have Bulls on Parade yet!
Prayer of the Refugee and Minus Celsius were MAJOR flukes for me.
I could only dream of getting some of the FCs you have.
But are we still on for that race of In the Belly of a Shark? |

By the way, what is your trick for hitting sweeps? I would probably use it for Black Sunshine, rather than Kool Thing, (at least at the moment) but it would be good to know the trick in any case. |

It's not going to work for Black Sunshine because you don't have time to get your fingers over! (Those sweeps are a bit slower though.)
But for Kool Thing, you just have to drop the sustains that comes right before the sweeps a little early to get your index finger on the orange and just swipe it across the fretboard. It was the ONLY consistent way I could hit them. Sure, I lost a few hundred tick points, but it made getting the FC a breeze. _________________

Oh. Well, it might work on Blown Gasser Madness 1 (the trills), if I use 1-2 fingering on each trill. I thougt that your trick would involve more than one finger. I just need to get consistent with the sweeps in verse 3/4. Breakdown is a whole other story .
Oh well, worth a shot.
Personally, I would play sweeps as:
4 3 2 1 1
But your method works as well. Matter of preference, and all that.
(And how are you going on #43?) |

The way you suggested is how I play every other sweep. It's just that Kool Thing's are ridiculously fast, plus they are made more complicated by the fact that you're holding the green fret down before the sweep so you have to slide to hit the orange no matter how you do it. I really didn't mind doing it my way as opposed to playing it 20 more times and getting, what, +200 points? Haha, don't think so.
I'm not going at all on #43... My whammy bar for my guitar broke (stupid Les Paul guitars) so I'm out of commission until I get another one. _________________

Nice job on Kool Thing. That strumming is not too hard, but when put in the context of the worst song in the known universe, it's not exactly the easiest thing to not explode. _________________

Hahahahaha, I used to hate it, but the fact that I didn't have a terrible FC choke story for this song made me warm up to it just slightly. What killed me a lot more than the strumming were the sweeps until I figured out a slick way to hit them. Hehe.
But yeah...the song's about on the same level for me as Anarchy In The U.K. and In Love in terms of listenability -- or whatever the word is.
On another note, I'm running out of FCable songs on this game so fast... _________________

I think the word you're looking for is endurance . But you're quite right, blackhawk12. I can't stand listening to Kool Thing either. Anarchy and In Love too. Seriously, it took me about two weeks just to bear listening to Anarchy in the U.K. before I could focus on FCing it.
EDIT: Post 77! Lucky for me |

Is there any one FC that you would want as #43?
When you get a new LP, that is. |

Stellar FCs! Everyone in this thread makes me feel like crap, lol.
Even though this was discussed a while back, I'll bring back up the topic of Black Sunshine. I've -2'd the Breakdown multiple before in a real run, no tapping, so people of your calibur should be able to get it with just a bit of practice.
That being said, I suck majorly at this song and always have stupid missed in Verses 3 and 4, not even on the sweeps |

oddly, I love this song. The sound, the chart, especially the triple chord slaughter at the end.
Great job and keep up the FC's! _________________

I know! I actually had already commented about my liking of this song in my comments on my list of FCs. I think we're the only two people in the world who like that song. And thanks for the congrats.
By the way, I just had a run of Helicopter where I stupidly missed in the chords RIGHT before the fast strumming and then FCed the rest. FML.
EDIT: Lol, never mind. Just got Helicopter!
That also eliminates all the undeserved gold stars I had so I'm pretty happy about this one. I HATE undeserved gold stars, where I hit all the notes, but with overstrum/s.
EDIT #2: And also got Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll. This song was an absolute battle for me, and it excites me I never have to play it again. (Or at least not for awhile... I will have to play it again because I overran a SP phrase, costing me an activation.) _________________

Congrats on the new FCs.
gogogo Optimal CoFwRaR pl0x!
I was bored yesterday and I had a look at your posts, and in your very first post, I think you said something about wanting to get 20 FCs.
I think that's interesting, because you now have more than double that amount.
Just goes to show that practice makes perfect.
I can see you getting a FGFC... eventually.
Edit: Thank god you finally removed the word 'Lowly' from your title, I couldn't stand to see someone this good doubt their ability.
Edit 2: Damn! I just realized that I lost our race to FC ItBoaS. I guess in the end, it went to the most deserving person. |
