i've decided to make this into a tutorial of sorts. below the tutorial will be a list of possible rules to get you started, i'll update the list with any rules people submit.
TUTORIAL PART
The purpose of this is to replace the loading tips with drinking rules, thus turning Guitar Hero 2 into a drinking game! This tutorial was created assuming you've already grabbed the gh2ne pack and an ark expander of some sort.
1. export the locale.dtb (found main/ui/eng/gen/) and tips.dtb (found main/config/gen/) from your ark.
2. open locale.dtb in your dtb editor.
3. change nodes 1167 - 1207 to whichever drinking rules you want to incorporate.
4. remove nodes 1238 - 1261 so that the bonus songs become random tips as well (you don't want people memorizing what rules go to which bonus song!)
5. save your changes
6. open tips.dtb in your dtb editor.
7. in tips_general, delete any tips you didn't use. (unless you want the drinking rules to pop up every so often as a 'treat')
8. save changes and close the editor
9. import into the ark using program of your choosing.
10. burn and enjoy!
LIST OF RULES TO CHOOSE FROM
1. Social!
2. If you beat the song pass out drinks (1=easy,2=medium,3=hard,4=expert)
3. Everytime your rock meter falls below green is one drink, two for red.
4. Choose someone to face off against for 2 drinks (each person would play the same song, lowest score drinks)
5. Everyone has to drink while star power is employed
6. Give two drinks!
7. Take two drinks!
8. Give three drinks!
9. Take three drinks!
10. The person that just played needs to take a drink.
11. Left flip challenge! (drink 1 if you fail, but pass out 5 if you pass)
12. If you fail the song, take three drinks!
13. If you can 100% this song every one downs their beer
14. Fail this song and you cant drink/smoke until next time you pass a song. (On the same difficulty)
15. For every 25 notes missed in this song take a drink
16. Play the song acoustic! (no sound on) for drinks
17. Wear prescription glasses or remove your glasses for drinks!
18. A drink for every star power section missed.
19. Gamble:bet(drinks) a percentage you'll achieve on a song, and see if anyone takes you up on it!
20. Play like the rockstar you think you are! (more of a humiliation)
and with my group of friends, we've made it a rule that you can't strum until you take your drinks, keeps people from sand bagging ;) i guess you could use that at your own discretion.

I hope you're putting a lot of Dream Theater in, because without those 20-minute songs that's going to be a lot of drinks.

yeah... i'm a lot better than anyone i know, so this is to kind of level the playing field...i'd have a pretty sober night otherwise.

Did you ever find away to make the encore tips random? If not thats where I put all our "socials" seemed fitting to me.
Another good one we use is "If you can 100% this song every one downs there beer"

We also have titles:
Band Leader - picks the songs people play.
Roady - Is the beer bitch cig lighter
Groupy - Cleans up when we are all done
Manager - gets to pick two people to watch battle in pro face off
Also we are coming up with little sayings to go with the rules such as:
The groupy you slep with last night gave you herpes. Take 3 drinks.
Your band rocked especialy hard last night. Hand out 5
Ours is not done yet I dont plan on this one being done for another month or so but Ill post all the rules for you when its done. I know that wont help tonight but here are some ofour ideas. Hope it helps

yeah, in locale.dtb i just deleted the loading_tip_artialblack and it made the bonus songs random tips.

i added a tutorial in case anyone wants to try this idea out themselves. i will update the list as often as a can with your suggestions for rules.

a drink for every star power section missed.

I'm gonna make a custom with all my fave drinking songs for this
my friends and I often play guitar hero while drinking the weekends away
and this is gonna make it far more challenging, great idea
