Extra tick multiplier glitch - GH3 DLC added

Always thought you could only get extra points by using Star Power? Fool !!! Here's a cool glitch I noticed while playing GH. Say, for example, the 9th note of a song is a yellow sustain, and the 10th note, a yellow note right after the previous one. You can get a few more points by hitting the second yellow as early as possible, because the last burst of ticks of the sustain is now being counted in the 2X multiplier. You can even get more points by both hitting the sustain late and the note early. You can also do this with 19-20th note and 29-30th note. The glitch works in every game except GH1 (not quite sure about GH:OT).

there are tons of glitches on GH3 especially, i don't think that would be considered cheating though..its just like a regular tick squeeze without the SP, so if this is cheating, then strumming the last note of an activation early would be cheating too. which it isn't.

Amazing find, especially if it really works not only in GH3 but also in GH2. It's actually very unlikely for the same "glitch" to work in both tick engines.

I think everyone and their brother knew about Rock This Town, and if they didn't, they probably still got glitched ticks anyway without even knowing it.

Everyone with an odd score or an even score that is not a multiple of 4 and an FC got glitched ticks or dropped holds in the intro, and the latter is *highly* unlikely.

I don't think myself, Piso, Witwix, wupun, and IAMCHRIS4LIFE are cheaters, but I guess if it was considered cheating to use these 'glitched' ticks, a lot of scores from very legit players would have to be redone. I personally think it's difficult to NOT get the glitched ticks. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is most definitely not cheating since everyone's stock copy of the game came with the ability to get the glitched ticks. It's not like people made custom discs with ticks added to holds to give them the edge on squeezing.

^It's probably a lot easier to get the glitched ticks in GH2 than in GH3. This is because in GH2, if you hit the next note early at all, you'll get at least some glitched ticks. But in GH3, you have to hit the next note at least a quarter of a beat early, and then you get 7 ticks all at once. It's all because of the tick burst effect in the GH3 engine. So that would explain why (apparently) no one's been doing this in GH3.

Undead, how many ticks did you count from that sustain?

I just got 11 extra ticks from it. The trick is not only to hit the YB chord early, but to hit the YB sustain right before it late. You might be able to get even more ticks this way, since I'm not that great of a squeezer. With Easy Expert I was able to get 15 extra ticks (and there are 17 ticks in that sustain).

I remember The Trooper having the glitch too, in the second sustain.

So Bj0rn doesn't have optimal on Miss Murder. Poor boy.

I know you can get *at least* 6 more points on The Trooper second O sustain by hitting the next O earlier.

Would there be any cases where this would change the upperbound path? It's definately possible, but the circumstances have to be pretty much perfect, so I doubt it.

But anyways, that's pretty cool. Definately not cheating, because it appears just to be part of the game.
