I sent out a message to Red Octane last night about the drum sensitivity issues and here is the response I got from them earlier today.

Quote:
Hi,

The problems you are having with your drum kit appear to be due to the sensativity of the drum pads. These pads can be calibrated individually, and this should resolve the problems you are having. The calibration requires you to connect your drum kit to a PC (the software is not mac compatible sorry) with a USB to MIDI cable. If you provide me with the following information I can have a cable sent to you if you need one.

Name
Mailing address (including street information, city, state, zip code)
Phone number
Where the game was purchased.
Serial number for your drum kit:

The serial number is behind the batteries (or wii remote) for a gray or clear sticker with black lettering. It should be two letters and twelve numbers.

This cable requires specific software in order to work properly. If you have not received a link to this software by the time you have received a cable please let me know.

So basically they will send you everything you need to calibrate the drum kit if you just send them a message here :

http://redoctane.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/redoctane.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=_PELlqhj

(got link from this thread, thanks Chris)

I will update this thread with whatever info or stuff I get from them.

Yes, it will ask you to either login of you have an account, or create one after writing up your message. Updates will be sent to you by e-mail or you can go into "My Stuff" to view your questions.

Edit : To Llednik : I sent them a message under "Ask a Question" yesterday, that was their response.

Hmmm, where did you find this...all i get is -

Question
The drum pads, cymbals, or foot pedal are not sensitive enough or they are too sensitive.
Answer

* If you find that the drum pads are not sensitive enough or that they are too sensitive try hitting the drum pad a little softer or harder. The pads may feel different from other drum games that you may have played.

* If you find that the cymbals are not sensitive enough check to make sure that the cymbal cable is firmly plugged in. If it is plugged in firmly then you may just need to hit the cymbal a little harder. If the cymbals are too sensitive then check to make sure that the nut that holds the cymbal in place is firmly attached. Also check that the screws on the cymbal mount are tight.

* If the foot pedal is not sensitive enough then try pressing it a little harder. If the foot pedal is too sensitive then try pressing it a little softer. Also you will want to make sure that the pedal is not lifting off of the floor when you press on it. Make sure that the pedal is on a flat surface.

Please note if none of the above is helping with your issue then click on the "Ask a Question" tab and submit an incident to Activision customer support.

What about people who don't live in the US? Does it say anything?

Why don't they just patch the software to the game? It's obviously a better choice, for them and for us.

I'm from Canada and I sent them my info, so we'll see if they send me the kit or not (I hope they will). I will update this with any news as soon as I get some.

If you liked it, then yes. If you didn't like it, then no.

Well, I got a response today saying that they are shipping out my kit, so all signs point to yes (at least for North America). Now to see how long it takes to get here, I can't wait.
