if this is too much of a poll question, close it. or if this has been made before i'm sorry i haven't seen another thread like this yet.

that being said...We all started on a low difficulty, or even if you didn't, you had at least some difficulty starting out. But this one day you wake up, start playing, and you realize "Wow, this is way too easy! i need to bump it up.."
when did this happen for you? if it hasn't, don't worry, it will just give it time.

for me it was when i was playing One on medium. i thought it would be difficult, but after playing through it i realized it wasn't hard at all, and stepped up my game. since then i've made pretty good progress.

I can't remember when it got easy for me, but I remember that I only beat the devil on expert some time around the middle of this year.

Now I can quite happily 4* TTFAF, which I know is pretty average for SH but for my friends, it's quite legendary :P

pretty much with the release of gh3. I had just finished getting my log in gh2 about 3 days before gh3 came out, and then I 5*'d every song in gh3 except TTFAF within a month. TTFAF did take a while but I can 5* it consistently now. I 5 *'d GH:WT sightread.. as I know a huge chunk of SHers did.

It became east when I first beat Freebird on Hard. Then I got stuck on Hangar 18, then Freebird on expert. After I beat that, I felt like I could take on the GH world.
The only songs I got stuck on after that were Jordan (almost 5*s), Raining Blood (245k FTW), Lou Battle (EASY PEASY), and TTFAF (Lol, major suckage, only 410k)
Now I have 69/70 5*s on Expert in GH3.

I don't really understand what is being asked here? Did GH really ever get easy for you guys? I feel like each time one skill/section became easy, there is another challenge to tackle right around the corner. Unless you've FCd every single song in your game of choice, can you really call it easy?

When I get gh2, the first time I played it I picked expert, and (thanks to the HO/PO system...) I finished the game pretty easily, but it became really easy after gh3 (sightread 5* the expert carrer!)

I don't think it's ever "easy". We might get better, but there's still always something harder than we can do. I just look back from time to time, look at my Log and my Jordan 5 star, and then remember the first time I failed Six on Expert the first day I played the game. It's pretty cool to think about how far you've come.

The first time I played Guitar Hero was GH1 at a friend's house. They told me to do medium because easy was "too easy". After missing a couple notes figuring things out, I proceeded to hit pretty much the whole song. I decided medium was too easy and moved up to hard. A day or two later, expert followed on easier songs. Some of the later songs were too difficult at that point but I enjoyed the challenge. Once GHII came out, I bought the game, swept through hard easily, then expert -- only getting stuck on Psychobilly. GH3 -- Expert only.

I agree, no one can call GH easy until you can consistantly get optimal score on every song

As for when to know when to bump up the dificulty: I played Medium, finished medium played hard, finished hard, played expaert passed expert, 5*ed expert, tried to FC expert, and here I stand!

When passing every song on expert was no challenge at all.

One day my friend came over and showed me hyperspeed and that scores are what mattered in 4 and 5 stars, not note streak and percentage. I had about 40 5* at that point in GH2, but before the end of the night I had 7 left to get and had no 3* remaining. That's when I realized I had gotten really good at it for that point. Ever since then I've steadily improved and now I'm pretty much content with where I am at. I can 5* TTFAF at will pretty much, but I'm still kind of bad at solos. They are definitely something that I don't feel I'll ever get super good at.
