|
|
Well I don't have enough money to get an xbox360 or ps3 and the new instruments, but I got a ps2 for guitar heros back before GH3 was out, because it was quite cheap. I just want to get GH:WT for PS2 and use my current SG guitar on the PS2, maybe get drums and/or mic later if I gain enough interest in the idea.
My question is: does the SG guitar for PS2 work for GH:WT, or do I have to get the new one? And since the PS2 only has 2 controller ports, does that make it impossible to play more than 2 instruments at once, or is there some kind of splitter? |

For the SG question, Im pretty sure that it will work. You just wont have the full functionality since there isnt the touchstrip. The touchstrip stuff is just cash anyway, you dont get any extra points. _________________

For your last question, there is of course a thing you can buy, were you just plug it in the PS2 and you can plug 6 more controllers (ithink) into it. |

You need one for Rock Band too.
But I think only if you buy things separate. The 'Big Box' versions come with their own adapter, which I think is a multi-tap anyways (at least I think it was for RB1). |

I don't know about the new GHWT instruments, but the Rock Band instruments use the USB ports, so the PS2 bundle actually came with a USB hub for connecting all the instruments at once. _________________

Yeah, I bought mine separate so I wasn't sure. I know the RB manual has instructions for a Multi-Tap in it though.
Using my old guitars and a USB microphone, I had to get one for the 2 guitar controllers and a game controller for the microphone.
Never got around to the drums, but I suspect they use a USB connection. |

The RB1 bundle had a USB hub because all of the instruments were the same as the PS3 versions and, thus, used USB. So in order to run a full band (on Rock Band, anyway) you need either a USB hub (and use at least one RB guitar) or a multitap (and use two GH guitars). Since (I'm assuming) the GHWT instruments all use controller ports, you'd need a multitap. |
