Well I was watching videos at youtube, and I got really stoked when I saw that Holy Wars was in the game.
Even tho the cover was horrible, that wasn't what I was most concerned about. The chart was horrible. And so was the other charts of other songs. Like the trills on Run To The Hills were charted :
O O O O O O
I think it is hilarious. Does anyone want to buy this game after looking at these horrible charts? _________________

I bought the game after seeing some gameplay videos. I love the setlist and am satisfied with most of the charting decisions. As well, the various challenges such as studio recording (don't miss a note), band practice (memorize the section), and poison note offer great variety. I would recommend it, but it's certainly not a substitute for GH/RB, just a nice addition. _________________

I agree with the fact that the setlist is awesome. But charts were awful.
Take for example Hangar 18 in GH2 : Other than the vocals, this cover was spot on. You almost can't tell wether its Friedman and Mustaine or a harmonix employee. But on Holy Wars the guitar fucked up several times, and it didnt have the feel over the solo as the original. But the chart was even more awful. _________________

Care to elaborate on what you didn't like about the chart? I myself felt that the chart for Holy Wars flowed rather nicely. In fact, I found the charts for 33 of the songs to be exceptional. _________________

Bought it. I'm a proud owner. And I must say it is pretty good. _________________

My mom has got me a copy of this for Christmas, and I thought it might have been good, but Rock Band and Guitar Hero blow this one out of the water big time.
I'll mess about on this now and then when I want a change from the Rock Band and Guitar Hero, but that's it really... |

That up and down scrolling just feels awkward looking at gameplay videos. I checked out the Holy Wars video and though the music sounds fine, the vocals really aren't great. Could've done much better I think.
Really I see no reason to get the game. I mean there's already crossed songs in GH and RB and they really weren't need in Rock Revolution, especially when they are taking a step backwards in music games and going back to covers for songs. The game looks like it should've been out before Rock Band or GH3. Just feels dated.
I'll take the game if I get it for Christmas or something, but to me there's really nothing redeeming when the two juggernauts of the music games are doing it better and have been for years.
Konami may have done it first, but they are way behind the game now lol |

I think the charts might look "bad" in the context of Guitar Hero, but they seem to be written in the style of Konami's old rhythm games, and those played pretty fine.
I'd say give it a try first, maybe. It's a different game engine than the GH/RB style.

IMO, Holy Wars is going to be a much harder FC than anything on GH:WT. Plus, after you get the FC have fun trying to get perfect FCs. If you're just a fraction of a second early or late, you've just got a good, time to start over. Plus HoPos aren't as forgiving as you'd expect. _________________

If I find out that the DLC is on the PS3 version then I will buy it. That Bemani pack already reeled me in. |
