I've been to other concerts, but none of them were really music you guys would be interested in. Anyway, the bands I saw:
Saving Abel - The opening band. I'd surprisingly heard of them. I'd always hear their hit song on the radio at work, and they were pretty impressive. I guess they're the new guys, and I liked their stage presence and sound. Good start to the show. \m/
Shinedown - It just got better and better. :P I was familiar with Shinedown long before their debut in Rock Band, and I was excited to hear them live. The singer's voice is just awesome and he had a knack for making the entire crowd go completely nuts at any given moment.
Avenged Sevenfold - Fucking awesome, who I came to see, etc. Bad news is they didn't play A Little Piece of Heaven. I was saddened by this. Other than that, mind status = blown.
Buckcherry - Compared to all the others, these guys were a letdown. I enjoyed a couple of their songs, but the others just didn't work for me the way the other bands did (maybe I was a wimp and tired too). They played well and the room was electric, it just wasn't my kind of thing. Overall, badass show for only $30. \m/ I got Shinedown's new album too, really great stuff!~ | I saw the exact same show you did last night and yes... it was awesome. My thoughts:
Saving Abel- This was my second time seeing these guys(which is depressing as it was only my first time seeing A7x and shinedown) and they arent really anything special to me. Just typical mediocre new rock.
Shinedown- My god there singer is a fucking creepy dude, He had a light singing up from the bottom of the stage to resemble like when you hold a flashlight at a campfire. An amazing singer though and liked to preach like a crazy dude in between songs. The craziest part was when he told us all on the floor to start jumping when he raised his hand and we all went ballistic. It was awesome.
Buckcherry- I thought these guys were awful. There singer sings like Ozzy talks and never matched the music that was playing most of the time. He was also nasty heroin skinny and was covered ugly ass tattoos. The music was sub par, but at least the funny lookin chinese dude and fat Paul Rudd dude occasionally had a good solo. Overall, these guys suck and I never wanna see them again.
Avenged sevenfold- Now to the main event and the reason I came. First off they were amazing. By far the best part of there set was the fact that everything was at the perfect volume. Every concert ive seen there was an instrument to loud that would drown out the singing, but this perfect. They opened with Critical Acclaim and as soon as the whole band kicked in the floor exploded. I dont know what happened and where I went but next I knew there were mosh pits next to me and I had to worry about those for like a minute. The rest of the time besides the occasional crowd surfer it awesome and was so damn close. A much better live band than I had thought and youtube vids do them no justice.
This brings the bands ive seen live to:
Avenged Sevenfold
Buckcherry
Shinedown
Saving Abel
Megadeth
Rush
Foo Fighters
Van Halen(twice)
Def Lepperd(twice)
Styx
REO Speedwagon
Black Tide
Theory of a Deadman _________________

I have seen:
Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin)
Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys (thanks Dad)
Coldplay (lol, but they were really good live)
Tokyo Police Club (they are from the town next to me, I saw them before they got big)
And I'm gonna see Broken Social Scene in Toronto Thursday, can't wait! It's at a small venue, and they are one of my favourite bands.
Emmure, before they got big, I got one of their t-shirts and their first EP.
Blessed By a Broken Heart
Catherine
The Gorgeous (RIP, Best Band)
The Holly Springs Disaster
Dead and Divine
Straight Reads the Line (check them out, SO SICK)
Liferuiner
Life in Sound, best live band I've ever seen and they only have 12,000 plays on myspace. Please check them out.
Local bands that I have seen:
Brighter, Brightest
With Blood
Shortline Hero
Sawmill Valley
Mugshot
DD/MM/YYYY
There are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. _________________

I've been too Warped Tour 07 and 08 so I don't really feel like naming all of the bands I saw.
I have also seen N*Sync, MCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Blue Oyster Cult (twice)
I almost got to see Lupe Fiasco but my friends bailed on me.
And Next Thursday I am going to see The Cool Kids w/ Q-Tip
(I have never listened to his solo stuff but I love A Tribe Called Quest so I should like him) _________________

I have only been to The Who. And Pete Townsend gave me a hi-five!
Next year, I am going to AC/DC and maybe if they come, Metallica! I can't wait to get a hi-five from Brian Johnson! _________________

Bands/People ive seen:
1. Arlo Gutherie (when i was like 5 lol, it was a kids themed thing)
2. Boris (opened for NIN, amazing live. The Drummer is hilarious)
3. Nine Inch Nails (awesome, what else to say....) |

Did he crowd surf at the end of the show then walk off stage while the other 2 kept playing?
[edit] I got to see the Melvins last night. It was amazing. I think Buzzo was trying to get me and my friend to flinch by swinging the guitar at us. He was in arms reach the entire time.
Upcoming:
Candlemass
May 31 San Marcos, CA @ JUMPING TURTLE
June 1 West Hollywood, CA - WHISKEY A-GO-GO |
